Ironic wink wink nudge nudge shit has long since worn out its welcome and doesnt excuse your PC having dialogue that feels hand-written by the world's foremost expert in Reddit-ese
sort of, Devil May Cry only half takes itself seriously and its beloved, because it isn't post-irony, that's the real problem and what annoys the shit out of people.

the "Yea, we know this is lame, but you can totally enjoy this because we are going to wink right at you" shit that all media does nowadays is the real stick to the ribs.

I have finished some of the party members quests and i just wanna share my thoughts about it and themselves

As the "fascist" he is more of the likable characters in your party. Typical lawful evil, supporting a evil empire as its judge, jury and executioner. Tristan is frim in his beliefs but has been taught by his mentor (more on her later) to always ask questions and seek answers himself without following the book of law to the latter, That makes him more open-minded to ideas. the game still wont stop hounding him for being part of the evil "fascist" (they more like communist you retarded game devs) and the MC has a bunch of snarky reddit humor comment when he criticize Tristan such as "WOW, i cant believe you thought the evil "fascist" were the good guys? You most be pretty stupid huh?" His quest starts with him trying to find out who killed his mentor. To make a long story short, turns out his mentor was a turn coat traitor and sold out to the council (basically a sub faction of the fascists that betrayed their emperor) and was killed by Tristan friend, who was also a student of the mentor. Throughout his questline, you can try and convince Tristan that maybe the "fascists" are not the morally superior good guys the universe needs, that their system and logic are deeply flawed and i kinda liked having small debates with him. Having the be forced to confront his way of life and question their actions. Of course i spared Tristan friend and while Tristan is still loyal to the "fascist", he atleast sees the council as the greater evil that need to be purge.

Aza is really simple. She likes to kill things. The stereotypical idea what a redditor thinks a psychopath acts like. The entire cult premise is stupid as hell but i did like the "twist" in her quest. Turns out the fascists created the cult to "brainwash" people to join their side or use them as proxy's. Aza of course flips out and you kill their ring leader that organized the thing. Its weird you dont get an option to kill Aza because she wants to start up the cult again but this time, It will be her cult. very predictable and boring character.

Marisolshes basically the CIA of her faction. Dose all their dirty work and clean up when their mathiesons sperg out. The typical old jaded glow in the dark that is tired and full of regret kind of character. I fucked up her mission because i could not lie that the experiment was a failure good enough and the pathological liar perk really fucked me over on that one. Overall, meh.

Cleared the first (tutorial) planet, and for now beside the way too many gurl bosses and gay males, lackluster dialogues, with the critic of the two choices of dialogue being ironic asshole or due gooder being very correct, its an okay game. Obsidian seems to have learned from its mistakes in OW1, and implemented the things they did right in Avowed (which I really enjoyed playing as heavy Musketeer). It appears to have replay value, and after I finish the dev copy gonna buy on sales to do a solo murder hobo run. Take my shekel Obsidian, you earned it for whoever put the following name in there.

Well, I completed it.
Loved how the devs didn't get lazy as the game got on. There is consistently multiple ways to complete missions and make use of all your skills. The perks actually matter, not just in gameplay, but sometimes in dialog too, background is less common.
I don't miss companion armour or any other skillboosts. I loved how I didn't need to prebuff for anything. The inventory system took away any busywork too, so I could focus on the good stuff.

The dialogue, story, worldbuilding and art design is great. I'll probably play it again in a few months doing an anti-aunty run.

There were a few things I disliked.
  • A few times, during their quests, companions would guilelessly talk to you directly whilst you were hoodwinking someone.
  • No Protectorate reputation - it would be nice not to be shot on sight by patrols, even when with Tristan. They only seemed to offer an alternative to Auntie on the first island. I guess the game needed an enemy.
  • The Archive is such a big part of the game, but nearly unmentioned in the ending slides.
  • The barks between companions are way too stupid and silly.

Re: Marisol, I thought pathological liar made lies far more believable. I think the key to that quest was only sabotaging the experiment partially, so the anchoress didn't suspect sabotage.
Re: Ada, I hated how you had to spare the dangerous ringleader if you wanted Ada to heal.

I hate how the game looks, it has no style to it. Maybe I have UE fatigue but there is nothing that feels distinct about it.

I don't get why they can't or don't want to have vibrant colors. It feels like everyone uses the same graphical preset for everything including the characters.

I love how there isn't a single weapon or armor set in the game that actually looks cool.

This game is so obsessively devoted to the whole "everything is lame and gay" reddit irony hipster shit that they can't even make a cool looking gun.

Feargus Urquhart is still there but any other oldfag is only on as a contractor iirc or was and still is an inconsequential pencil pusher. Dunno where he's getting his info from. Urquhart was a fat shitstain even back during the Interplay days and he should have been vanned decades ago.

I get the impression someone on the dev team has a femdom fetish.
I have a sneaking suspicion they were scared shitless of people meming Moon Man into the "real life" Mac Tonight and had to do a little preemptive humiliation.
