Reorganization of September 29th, 2025

If nothing else, this change finally got me to watchlist all the common threads I click anyways.

Please consider adding features to make sneedchat only load on /chat/,

Also the ability to display all avatars as static pictures, including otherwise animated ones.

I'd put a lower cow and upper cow sections. AVGN/marzgurl/so on in the lower, and an upper tier for the mercantes bossman and actives.

Maybe a 3 tier. Dunno names, but actively offensive cows, moderates ones, and lower on the front page. Ranking might not be easy though, that's subjective.

Before you updated the style the text on the lolcow boards on the front page used to match the color of the icon. Salon boards had purple text, Off topic had blue, thunderdome had red. Can we bring this back joshy josh?

I wrote up a complete list of Fuentes-adjacent threads I would like to see moved out of the Sektur board. Nick Fuentes and the Groyper community were already moved, which is great.

I don't mind the new changes but maybe there should be categories not based on the community/cow content but the user engagement/traffic speed? Because I fear that a lot of good threads will stay buried under a layer of very active threads. Also please consider making a Lolcow of the year hall of infamy segment so the nominated get their threads pinned for the year or whatever.

X buttons next to each community feature to dismiss them. it would be useful when there are a bunch of them and they take up a lot of space.

Request: add a “search by Highlight” filter wherein the posts returned by a search parameter are only highlighted posts (both manually and through the reaction system).

Search is offline so I can't see if someone already suggested it. For posts that are highlighted, have the award link on the top and bottom.

Often, the posts are long, and it would save us from scrolling all the way up to the beginning of the post to click to see the next highlight.

I touched on this before but I've had more time to organize my thoughts on the matter into something coherent.

The Beauty Parlor could use a reorganization.

As it stands this is the closest we have to a guideline for what kind of content is in there.


And quite frankly I find it lacking in terms of accuracy and clarity, especially since the merge with Deathfats.

There are examples of threads there that were once more applicable to that sphere, but now feel as though they belong elsewhere, such as Shoe0nHead, and the Jomhas, or depending on how you want to cut it there are threads elsewhere that should be added in like Ellen Woodbury, Samantha Prater, etc.

To illustrate my point, if a newcomer was to ask "what kind of threads are in the Beauty Parlor?" I do not think the current guidelines provide a satisfactory answer. So we need to find that answer, and then add/remove threads from that forum to fit it. It could be as broad as being all the female lolcows, pun not intended, or as narrow as those actually active in cosplay and beauty. However as it stands it suffers greatly from the very stagnation that Null derides in the OP of this thread. There are threads in there that no longer fit but remain because they've always been in there, and there are threads that could be in there but aren't because they predate the board.

To be clear I have no issue with the existence of the beauty parlor, or its status of having special rules, I only want its subject matter to be clearly defined and accurately applied.

Can the New Off-Topic threads and New Politisperging go back to the 5/6 that it used to be before it got changed to 3? 3 has always felt very limiting in terms of visibility.

Small UI suggestion, but IMO the Community Feature title doesn't look good with a dotted underline.

Either give a solid underline, give it it's own "box" container, or just remove the underline entirely.

Also, I'm not a fan of the tags next to notifications; seems unnecessary when you're not actually browsing for threads.

Maybe the tag could be moved to the lower margin next to the time, or it could be integrated into the highlight on the left margin? I don't know.

Give the queers that private their profile the pink triangle as well.

Well I'd like it if each forum had a little search button above it to search within it as a shortcut. Also I think that a good portion of the tumblr subforum that's in spergatory could be merged into lolcows

I also think bringing back featured threads or "trending" threads would be nice. Maybe an option to sort by things thread views more easy? Instead of a dropdown just clicking something above the thread views and then viola. Plus just an alphabetical category would be nice too

Maybe a more robust tagging system, the option to filter cows and threads via pretty much any descriptor you can think of to describe them. Maybe a way of grouping together cows from similar circles via some sort of feature ala (and I cant believe I'm saying this) reddit's multireddit feature?

What about a temporary thread in Prospering Grounds with a Find new Lolcows challenge, with the parameters being less strict than for a full OP. Give it a time limit, two weeks, or a month.
Challenge the community to bring any content they've found, or actively look for some, then present it a concise way, sell it a bit, and see the reception they get. It's less intimidating than a full OP, and might get people dropping things they otherwise wouldn't.
More focus on finding entertaining schizos, oddities, weird outsiders with a low profile, or strange little communities rather than horrorcows.
At the end of the time period run a poll, or pick your favourite one or two and do a 20 minute profile on Locals, to advertise that more.
Injects new Lolcow blood, could reinvigorate parts of the community, might get breakout stars like Bossman, also looks to growth of the forum, too.
There's no reason you couldn't do similar in the International community, too.

srsly tho I like it. For discoverability I agree, pages 2 and 3 of a board are kinda a slog to browse. Only solution I've seen on other sites is that 'infinite scroll' stuff.

Can we have a sub-forum for Doom mapping and Doom related stuff? We have lots of threads already and future projects could find a permanent home there.
