If it makes it even more insane it was to explain trans shit projected onto the character (I guess to explain davepeta shit or whatever I can't remember it's been a few days) but yeah it stuck out to me. as intensely wrong partly because the whole point with equius was he tried being super noble space racist high caste guy but then the second he was told "no stop" enough he would and in some cases he'd be a weirdo and get off to it.

I decided to look and see if I could find the post again but I couldn't because there's been a shitload of mentions since then somehow.

I did find this though I guess it's close-ish.

I don't remember equius ever being controlling and scary (aside from his fucked up interests and FREAKISH STRENGTH) And I don't remember talk anywhere about him actually having any control ever given he was the guy that got sweaty and bothered over being told to do literally anything.

This isn't the only one I've seen like this trying to find the other one either. Current year homestuck fans really dislike how the two of them are legally designated best friends I guess.

I found something closer to what I saw, but I'm not sure if it's the actual post because the poster says the ideas fucking stupid after explaining it. it's similar though.

EDIT: Found this bit of funny dialogue I forgot about posted earlier than all the other shit I saw.

They likely won't because it's pre-mspa but these comics still make me fucking laugh years later, no I don't care what reddit or tumblr people say they "prove" about hussie's character or whatever the fuck the 4 hour video essayists say.

This is the most ADHD thing I’ve ever fucking watched, the comic can be confusing and complicated but it’s comprehensible because it eases you into it, in this animation they’ve just crammed a fairly large amount of plot development into HOOHOOHAHASBURBEVERYCHARACTERTALKINGATONCEHEEHEEHOOHOO. I doubt anyone not already familiar with the story would even grasp what the fuck is going on. I’ve never watched any Vivziepop garbage other than this but I’m pretty sure Hazbin Hotel has a similar problem.

Also, despite John possibly being the most heterosexual character in the comic, they already managed to invent some shipping bait with Dave. It’s so obviously pandering. Dave already canonically gets with Karkat, why do we need additional yaoi bait with these characters? There’s no fucking point and all it does is annoyingly deviate from the source material.
 
Idk what the plot of homesick is and after trying to give this video a try and giving up after some skipping around, I still don't. The art is ugly, the voice acting is dumb and the dialogue sounds both cringe and boring.

How does this have a cult following, again?

I liked it. Little overboard on the swearing, I think I counted 4 not really necessary swearing, I stopped having an accurate count I think there's 21? I really like how the sllyadex is used, kinda wish there were more times the slyadex was blown up in John's face they're bound to do it otherwise jack won't have his scars and single arm. But what do you, except for an 11 minute pilot to cover 114 pages of homestuck in 11 minutes (they also cut out alot of john fucking around like the piano, the bathroom, and switching pesterchum status ). Also, since the retcon arm is there, I wonder how they're going to handle terezi passwords and the oil constantly being around. Unless they just have the arm only. TRULY AN GOOD ANIME WHEN THE ORIGINAL COMIC IS BETTER

The one thing that stood out to me was the comically awful audio mixing. You can't tell what anyone's saying without subtitles. Half the voice actors' lines fluctuated between barely audible and normal volume, and the other sound effects had the opposite problem where they ranged from normal volume to ear rape. Have these tards never heard of a compressor? You'd think with Toby Fox as an executive producer credit they'd at least have some amount of audio quality control.
Speaking of which, Toby's VA performance was terrible as expected. I understand why they got him for that role, but if they wanted him for a non-actor celebrity cameo they should've gotten him to do Tavros or Eridan or someone else who doesn't talk much, not the fucking main character role. All the voice acting is kinda shit (besides Adam McArthur as Dave, he was fine), but Toby as John sticks out like a blistered AIDS-infested sore thumb. He ought to stick to being a disembodied TTS voice on streams.

Watched because I was curious. Have never read homestuck, and I still don’t understand it. Have no clue what or why anything was happening. Nothing that happened was very interesting or funny, I guess I liked some of the visuals. I guess they established the characters? Can’t say I’m really interested by any of them. I liked some of the voice acting, that’s usually my least favorite part of any indie animation. I liked Chris’ narration.

All they really did was establish the characters. I was shocked when it ended. I thought they would at least do something interesting. Hopefully what the current mods of the Discord are claiming are true. (It's bullshit.)

Yeah, same boat. I heard about it a very, very long time ago and thought "That sounds gay no thanks."

Cartoon looks alright. It's still gay but I dunno, I've seen gayer shit.

The pilot seemed the opposite of "fast" to me. 10 minutes of run time and fucking nothing happens. I mean maybe I was spoiled with shit like the 90s spiderman cartoon being a good example of fast paced information loading, and that wasn't even a pilot!
This small unedited segment I found has more stuff going on in it than this entire pilot in THREE. FUCKING. MINUTES.
