They are already doing a great job of that themselves, they don't need any help. A lot of these late night talk shows are essentially zombies that are shambling around on the studios and the people in charge are just waiting for a good excuse to double-tap all of them. Still glad it's happening though.

Late night talk shows won't attract the newer generations though, the writing has been on the wall for a long time. I'm pretty sure Hasan and Destiny have more weight in the future of the DNC than all of these shitty "comedians".

This is an excellent book and contains the first clear articulation I'm aware of about the massive danger to society of interfering with free speech - using the example of Holocaust denial, Malice lays out the inevitable growth of lunatic fringe movements when they are not allowed to publically argue their positions. If they cannot argue in public they cannot be refuted in public.

There are some odd holes in the book as a history of the altright - one in particular is the absence of any coverage of the goonification of Something Awful and subsequent spinoff boards, in particular My Posting Career, but nobody's perfect.

Going out on a limb here, but there might be other reasons for political murders, mob violence, looting, drug trafficking, the promotion of racism and sexual freakery, female shower and bathroom access for men in wigs, antagonism to the traditional family, and the rising interests in the sexual needs of small children besides "liberation from capitalist and fascist oppression."

Nothing has happened to them except that they took down their latest episode and delayed the release of their next one (probably to make some last minute changes).

They should not be avoiding the spotlight as much as they have.

This is a reasonable possibility. I've always taken this Discord group to be comprised of his local friends anyway, especially when they know what he looks like and call him by his real name. The added eulogy too, suggesting that they're generally Mormons. The biggest radicalization vectors probably come from elsewhere, especially user video platforms. It's also notable that in one of the screenshots, Robinson was inquired to as the guy out of the group who knows about politics, though that exchange was five years old.

The boyfriend's messages were indifferent imho. If he didn't know an assassination would take place, that's still pretty horrifying to receive as a message, isn't it?

That's why I believe the messages were preplanned. I don't want to say fake, because the messages were real and sent, but definitely orchestrated for a narrative.

The other night, I was watching a clip of Greg Gutfeld's show. I don't consider him or anyone on his show super radical (imo).

I was taken aback when one of his guests straight up mentioned Reddit as a source of danger.

Even if the older demographic that watch Fox News don't fully get it, at least hopefully they can get that maybe they should consider what little Timmy and Sara are doing on their phone/computer and who they're actually talking to.

Getting these websites and apps out to the mainstream and actually labeling them as the problem is a good step imho.

Hey, being unfunny is not illegal. Kimmel outright lied, it wasn't even like speculative. They can be on TV, not be watched by anyone and bleed money forever for all I care. If they want to kill their own show by turning it into an eternal politisperg, they are free to do so.

The Discord UI automatically divides messages by labeled days, as shown in the screenshot. But this would mean that only five messages (between two people) were sent for the entirety of September 10th. And then nothing was said on September 11th until Robinson came by in the evening. It could mean that this Discord group became inactive over time. That's not unusual over the course of years when members move on. But then why would Robinson be compelled to pop in if it was inactive?

Or it could mean that messages were deleted, which is within the power of the server admin. Deleted messages disappear entirely, as if they never existed to begin with. So there actually could have been all sorts of messages sent on September 10th and 11th before Robinson came by, only to then be subsequently deleted. If this screenshot was just snippets of a bigger conversation, then we shouldn't see the day horizontal lines. This screenshot is also supposedly provided by a friend, not from Discord itself that would include all deleted messages for the investigation. I think it's likely that Robinson's friends in this Discord group are running PR before we hear through the investigation about worse things they and Robinson have been talking about.

What I think would be a much simpler explanation is that this "groupchat" is just a discord server and they had different text channels for different purposes and someone just posted your screenshot to a designated "news" or "politics" channel, or they posted it and then people hopped onto voice chat to talk about it once the news was out.

Either way the discord logs will be handed over to the cops and if there is anything bad in there they will 100% reveal them to use them as a playing card.

Highly recommend watching him more often. He frequently has internet-savvy
guests talking about these topics, including the aforementioned Michael Malice.
