I have a TH account I have not used since I made it. The majority of the Toy House community are either tryhards who spend too much time making their profiles look like eyesores or degenerates with the worst OCs and writing I have ever seen. These are people who think being gay or a troon and having immense trauma makes for a better character than a normal, well adjusted person going through a struggle where the trauma isn't their entire character. It's like walking into fucking Chernobyl with how radioactive and rank it is.
Not to mention how disorienting it is to navigate TH and the moderation is dogwater. It's just a shitty art website with an early 2000s layout. The fact that it's invite only also cripples it immensely. The userbase is indicidive of why people go elsewhere as well. Just overall a place you don't want to be if you want to grow as an artist of any kind.

KokichiOuma goes exclusively by it/its pronouns, but they've cycled through "they/he/she/it" for a few years. She's an autistic NEET who barely gets out of the house and has a myriad of "health issues" and, sometimes, goes entire weeks without contact to anyone, even people she's making commissions for.

Kokichi is almost notoriously hard to find/get in contact with, they consistently make new accounts and completely abandon old ones whenever it tickles their fancy. They also have a habit of word-vomiting every single thought that beams into their brain, through Toyhouse bulletins. Most of this culminates as "uwu I have anxiety and can't function as a person". Years ago she even made a Kickstarter trying to raise funds to get away from her parents' house, but that's long gone.

She has a terrible habit of making a mass assload of characters, forgetting half of them exist, and then selling all of them off for 20-35$ apiece. This happens with every account she makes, including "carrying over" some older OCs to the new one, in a "DO NOT OFFER" folder, or similar.

I use the site enough to know I'd unironically rather deal with Reddit and/or Discord mods than have even one conversation with a hypothetical Toyhouse mod chosen from the community.

While a lot of character adopts on Toyhouse suffer from being overdesigned to the point that they'd be hell to ever redraw, here's something that's the opposite in how barebones it is. Ditto (the Pokemon) adopts being advertised for sale:

For those unaware, Ditto's gimmick in Pokemon is that it's an amorphous blob who can shapeshift into any other Pokemon. Making this an incredibly low-effort thing to sell, since the "design" is literally just a color palette slapped onto a blob, with no examples of them transforming into anything with a tangible design—that's left for whoever buys them to create by themselves. The art is cute, but the fact that these were created to be immediately sold off makes them come off as uninspired cash grabs. It's the equivalent of drawing a colorful box and saying "ooo, whoever buys this gets to draw what's in the box!"

I remember seeing people talk about this site when it was new and I thought it was a retarded pointless idea then and I still do now it legitimately has no reason to exist, naturally it was going to be filled with retards and lazy shit heels trying to scam kids with shitty traced art.
