In my dream scenario, it would go to a dramatic trial like a Law and Order episode. Pat is put on the stand to be cross-examined by the prosecution where it is revealed that not only did the MPD not do anything wrong, but they have been building a murder case against him for Bernell Trammel. He then has a Josiah 5 level meltdown in the courtroom while the bailiffs cuff him.

I know thats not how anything works in real life, but I can dream.
