A lot of modern liberal parenting is designed to minimize parent/child conflict and allow neglectful behaviors to continue.

I'll bet you that Daniel's room/office is on the other side of that TV wall, hence Becky suddenly deciding that this is Hannah's newest obsession. Pretty soon Hannah will "decide" that she likes the works of Yoko Ono, at maximum volume, of course.

Becky, since I know you read your thread: tons of toddlers turn into carb-ivores for a while. They survive. You keep offering them various meats and veggies and fruits, but "I'm only into starch this year" is a whole thing for very normal toddlers.

I am sure this is rapidly going to turn into "my autistic child has sensory sensitivities and ARFID."

Did Daniel propose to the new girl? Either the relationship's going at a truly breakneck pace, or he's been with her for the timeline I've suspected all along (dating back to fall 2024), and all of his pushback against Becky dates to the time period after he started secretly seeing her.

Agreed. And I am at least halfway towards believing Daniel was our leak and the whole "oh he has IBS and isn't dating" bit was to throw everyone off. If so, I actually kinda respect that, but IDK if he's cunning enough.

Speaking as someone who babysat many a relative or friend's babies and toddlers: Hannah is at the stage where most kids develop their palate, and they usually prefer carbs because they tend to be uniform and not too overstimulating when it comes to flavors, colors, and textures. Many of the kids I fed almost always wanted fries, chicken or dino nuggets, and Goldfish crackers. Some will eat applesauce or fruit slices. Almost none of them will even try meat or veggies. God help Becky if she tries to serve a toddler rice and/or beans, because that almost ALWAYS results in a god awful mess.

Then again, I'm sure Becky would be DELIGHTED if Hannah paints the walls like Jackson Pollack with her meals, just to fuck with Daniel.

Looks like the property value is most of that. It looks like one of those now completely outdated houses that was built in the 80s around modular huge electronics and big "everything rooms" that have aged horribly. That said, the off center TV is pure laziness on their part. Probably just needs a screw tightened or something. I'm not a child rearing expert but I do know enough that cords are a major hazard along with outlets. Hopefully he's supervised when in that room but he ain't.

That TV is on a movable arm, so it can be angled toward any of several rooms. If you don't put it exactly back to center after, it looks like this.

This was my suspicion. Since they seemed to speak the most authoritatively on Sam.

I'm still MATI the thread got their panties in such a twist and scared them off over some irrelevant things that were perceived as lies (eg; the travel distance to certain local areas).
