I feel like Quinn, for better or worse, has a better claim to starting the “tech protest movement,” whatever the hell that means.
The "tech protest movement" started with Adria Richards and "Donglegate". It was the first prominent example of a woman in tech using her privileged position to shame and ultimately ruin two men, for the simple mistake of making a crude joke while she was in the same room. She resorted to public shaming of the men, and harassment of their employers, after her attempts to have them ejected from the PyCon conference were unsuccessful.

Everything that has gone wrong in tech found its nexus in that moment, with gamergate (and a bunch of other things) as the inevitable result. I'd even argue that it gave impetus to the troon movement, which went from a tumblr joke to a powerful force within the industry over the following three or four years, as some men saw how powerful women had become within the industry and decided to appropriate that social status for themselves.

It was a definite inflection point.

And karma had decided otherwise. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/donglegate-adria-richards It could be interesting to know where she the two guys are doing today.

Fuck that evil whore. What an absolutely vile person. It was a huge misstep in the evolution of humanity that this cunt and her vile behavior was tolerated and even rewarded.

(I feel there should be a KiwiFarms Photoshop section/threads, where we can get creative during downtime and post our results when the the site is up.)

Has anyone heard of Elliot's ugly man-snake boyfriend recently? 🐍 I think he may be beating that poor fucker up in frustration about failing to bring KF down, as he tries to slither away from the blinding troonhulk.

Interesting. And it highlights another problem with Dickless Jones writing a memoir: most people aren’t aware or don’t give a shit about the things he’s talking about.

Seeing your avatar above the beady eyed consent-accident-enjoying whompface known as lizthegray aka lizthegrey aka Liz Fong Jones, who is a rapist and commits crimes across state lines, made me realize it looks better than Liz Fong Jones, aka lizthegray aka lizthegrey, the consent-accident-enjoying whompface.

Holy fucking shit.

So what's the deal with Honeycomb? I can't find client lists, pricing, services offered or anything that indicates this is actually a real business. Just weird blog entries about attending various tech conferences.

Is this thing a glow op or one of those places that just tries to look good until they can get an IPO and unload on retarded boomer investors?

There is pricing is on their website, but the way they charge makes it hard to compare with competitors.

Also the support they offer is very poor unless you're an enterprise account – next business day responses. I would expect 2 hours max for a product like this.

Additionally they have a reputation for being hostile to accounts that don't fully align with them ideologically.

My guess is Honeycomb is only really interested in enterprise accounts.

If you're wondering why that is, look into the history of the people at Honeycomb. Many have a history of silencing sexual assault allegations. And the perpetrators they helped have often helped Honeycomb get VC funding or lucrative enterprise contracts. It's not hard to figure out what the company is actually about.

Actually, this is another good comparison to Zoe Quinn's stupid one. The book was at least timely given the delays of getting a book out. 2017 was a good time to hit all those GAMERGATE LED TO TRUMP AND NOW WE'RE IN FASCISM morons with a book from someone they'd recognize and who they didn't actually know anything about. Absolutely no one on Earth except former Google employees will remember Elliot and I bet even his "allies" don't have fond memories of him, they'd read it to see what he writes about other people they know if they bother to read it. Who else wants to read about "founding a movement" that immediately cratered into non-existence as Elliot spent all his time on consent accidents and being obsessed with a single internet forum instead? Even his saying that he "co-founded" it tells you he has nothing to tell you because it's not "co-founded and continues to lead" it just means he was there at the start and it won't be long before other people find out that it doesn't go much beyond him being "there" so no publisher is going to want it.

And going back to it, the whole rest of Zoe's book is about lessons from and future things you're supposed to do to stop Gamergate, it's part of the subtitle. Elliot has absolutely nothing to offer here, Zoe was at least temporarily and foolishly significant enough to be asked to talk to the UN about this. All of Elliot's "activism" since has been targeted at the Kiwi Farms and/or totally irrelevant to where he only talks about it in vague terms that tells you it doesn't mean anything.

As a layperson looking at their website, it looks like they came up with a Crtl+F bot for code.

If sending unsolicited messages to strange women online is activism then call me an activist. Memoir coming soon titled How Breaking into Your Crushes House at 3am to Steal Her Panties is Actually a Good Thing.

Memoirs by criminals and weirdos are usually more interesting than those by narcissists who can't admit any faults or mistakes, so I say go for it, you'll probably do better than Elliot.

Probably should check the statute of limitations before you admit to anything specific though.

Actually, this is another good comparison to Zoe Quinn's stupid one.
It's also worth saying that what Zoe/Chelsea wrote was entirely useless and effectively had to be ghostwritten over before publication, even her tranny volunteers on twitter considered it a literary abortion in the first draft when they were forced to read it and give feedback. Fong's even less interesting and going to need strict editorial work to make a memoir even remotely palatable.

Then again, it's probably not meant for bookshelves, it's probably thought to be something easy to push onto convention-goers, like honeycomb services. Bullying it into the hands of pajeets with corporate cards at conferences to get walking-around money.
