I was just having a think and was truly wondering, when does DSP stop streaming for good? There a difference between 40 year olds and upwards that stream video games for fun as a real hobby and then theres DSP. Derich will be 30 in 10 more years, no way any of the current whales he has will hold on for another 10 plus years to pay his Bill's. Twitch and YouTube could both go tits up tomorrow and I wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep but DSP... he's said so himself that he's the type of person that when told he can't do something that he likes to prove them wrong. When will reality hit DSP?

Disagree. The moment he sees the first bill for treatment for a chronic condition he will run screaming for any place willing to hire him and give him healthcare. No amount of emergency marathons are going to cover the cost of a two-three day hospital stay on his shitty insurance. After that he won’t be able to show his face because the years of shit he talked about people who work regular jobs will cause his viewers to be composed 100% of people attending just to laugh at and lord it over him.
 
Anyone else just getting real feel-good vibes from the fact that Phil got paid before his day off which means he can actually enjoy it and not stress about money? It’s nice knowing that the ONE day he has available to spend with his wife isn’t ruined today and they can go out and get groceries and run errands. This is starting to look like a really positive day.

I think he would just ignore the the bills. Remember in DSP's stunted mind, as long as you ignore the problem it doesn't exist, which is how he racked up $500,000 in debt to begin with.
 
Phil's life is so fucking weird. Every day people tune in to play "what is he going to have a breakdown about today?". If I woke up every day not only knowing I was going to lose my shit live on stream but knowing that people were showing up waiting for and egging on my breakdown I'd fucking off myself so quick.

This (among other reasons) is why I can't be jealous of DSP and I can't fathom why anyone else would be.

The best part is that it’s all performative. People have done breakdowns of his income versus best-guesses what his monthly expenses are and he doesn’t need to be making nearly what he cries for every month. Which is probably why he gets pissy when he’s not making his three hundo a day and not actually panicked; he doesn’t have bills to pay, he just wants more fun money to throw around, thinks he’s entitled to it and so turns into a toddler when he doesn’t get it. We’ve seen Phil panicked; he’s a fucking deer in the headlights when he realizes he’s said something embarrassing or potentially ban-worthy in front of 200+ people, fifteen of whom have already clipped it and are halfway to sending it to Twitch/YouTube. It’s not the same when it comes to making the tips goal consistently. He’s more annoyed than scared.

He’s paying his bills. He’s not having any trouble doing that and he’s not going to risk getting tossed out on his ass or having his power shut off. All of those panic moments are staged just so he can get more Scopley money.

Now I may not be hanging out in the right corners of the internet but DSP remains the only online persona I know of that stares directly into the camera and talks to his fanbase about his viewership, ad revenue, and income.
As if that’s their responsibility and something every single person tuning has to be worried about and working on. And as this clip shows, he’s been like that for years, and probably from the very beginning. And he holds these things over his viewer’s heads too

You can’t tell me that he doesn’t sound like some mogul whipping his employees whenever he says “This was a fun stream but contributions are low and I don’t know why! Well, there’s nothing I can do about that…”

See you are applying logic to Phil that just doesn't exist. Anything that is slightly inconvenient to a normal person would result in them looking at the best way to deal with it like what you said about a major health problem. But this is Phil we are talking about. Phil will just be like, Guyysss I need help paying my medical bills. Plus like @NotValKilmer said, he won't actually pay the bills. He will just complain about them for pity points. Might also get a sequel to the hospital story while we are at it lolol

A while ago I started checking numbers on Steam stats (namely the 7 day average concurrent players) whenever he says a game is dead. When Sea of Thieves announced an expansion or whatever on Gamepass or whatever and Phil said it was dead, the game had 30k players, when he said Dead by Daylight was dead after they announced the Resident Evil skins, it had 57k. When he said that Fall Guys is dead yesterday, it had 10k players. And keep in mind, this is Steam only, we're not even talking about console stats. If he says Destiny 2 is dead, I'm gonna laugh my ass off because it has 42k, with a current player number of over 150k at this very moment!

Phil's narcissism has turned into solipsism, only the things he thinks are true in his mind conform to actual reality according to him.
