For the record, I don't want to host Lolcow Farm. I might've offered at some point, and I think some moderators once supported the idea, but after 9chan I have no interest in hosting an imageboard again. It is such an involved task handling the lawbreaking spam that it needs serious rewards to be worth it. The BP mostly handles the job of Lolcow Farm. The only thing I feel bad about is that women don't really have an anonymous way to discuss women's issues and the KF is pseudonymous so it cannot fill the role entirely. Trannies will actively obliterate any effort to create such a space so I really don't have any alternative ideas.

You can't really have any kind of exclusive anonymous space that won't constantly obsess over catching out intruding outgroups until everyone starts self-censoring and acting the same as each other and avoiding disagreements so that nobody accuses them of being a moid or a tranny or Onision.

The community will just migrate somewhere else. crystal.cafe is basically gc lolcow.farm without the lolcows and Mumsnet is sort of the forum version of that. Cows can be discussed here, tattle.life, lipstick alley, guru gossiper, beautyguruchatter, or any of the many other gossip forums out there. People managed when PULL closed and they will be fine when lolcow.farm closes.

Completely agree. There are a few cows I like watching on there that never caught on here when they got a thread, but I’m sure they’ll be discussed somewhere else.

The best posters there probably left for greener pastures long ago, as the moderation descended into absolute lunacy and the mod team was infested by deranged troons. Really unless you go full TERF at this point, if you try to have any women's space it will immediately be swarmed with troons like cockroaches.

A lot of people have left over the years due to the constant admin changes to be honest. There was no stability, and the ever changing mods and admins made it hard to enjoy anything. Something that would have been fine under one admin, suddenly becomes bannable once someone else takes over. Never really knowing who it is who is going to be running the site. No transparency about things behind the scenes. It just got worse and worse over time.

I think the current (or I guess soon to be previous) admin exacerbated the situation though, and I feel like some of her actions really drove some of the userbase away, and alienated people further.

Honestly, I hope she does pull the plug on it. The site has just been declining and slowly dying for a long time. As Null already said, BP covers most of what's on lolcow anyway, and as others have said, there's tons of other sits to replace it.

Time for everyone to move on to greener pastures.
 
I really enjoy shitposting threads, husbandoposting, dumbass questions and the like, but I guess all of those can migrate easily to KF.
Great thing about anonymity was that you could have advice and health threads. I don't think those could work here even if people have taken proper steps to keep their info safe. Not having a name/avatar attached to you feels a lot safer.
As for cows, I only really follow one on there who is pretty boring anyway, I don't check other ones unless I'm really really really bored.

And I would rather die than post on GG or Lipstickalley they just feel too Twitter normey.
