I think it all kind of began when Null said Ralph is a sacrifice to the harvest or something. After that he has had a hard on of stubbornness and hate for Null. To the point where it's just pure hatred, and can't let go of shit. Reminds me of my old boss who just lived with bitterness and would go at great lengths to go after someone for something instead of letting it go.
 
I feel like something clicked inside Ethan's walnut brain when the Ade woman fucked him over bad in court, and he figures he could do the same to Joshua Moon, but how could he possibly think this would ever work when he's been running articles about people on his own website?
