Phil should be the poster boy for this phrase. It's one of Phil's really funny character traits to watch is, the concept that anyone anywhere is more successful and/or making more money than he is, pisses him off to an extraordinary level. I say extraordinary because it's really irrational how heated he gets because talk about ninja, people in the fgc, big names on youtube/twitch/business and he makes them sound like the literal worse people in the world like they punched your kid, kicked your dog, slapped your mom, etc. Like it's one thing to be envious of people who have it better than you have but this straight up HATES that anyone is doing better than him and just the idea is offensive to him. and I get why

Phil is a little man and the only way he can feel like a real big man in life is by making others feel small. Just like phil playing video games, his ability to compete and be good is really low, so he needs things to be brought down to his level for things to be fair

This whole shtick about "pewdiepie/avgn know me!" i'm relevant stuff is a big nothing burger. they don't know who you are phil. you are a moderately oversized fish in a tiny niche pond. even the semi-relevant people who "know" you only have a shallow awareness of you as "the guy!" or "oh yea that ass from my local arcade 20 years ago"

It's really funny that Phil thinks he's the Bison in life when in reality he's the Chun Li. To the people who're relevant, you're nobody.

A good example would be phil's personal peak in life his topping in super turbo at evo

[any of the japanese players who ranked at 1, 2, 3]: for you the 4th place finish was the most important day of your life, for me it was just tuesday

or that old lore he spouted about how he inspired pewdiepie to do lets play or he knows james rolfe. "for you the day pewdiepie mentioned you/james rolfe talked to you at a con was the most important day of your life, for them it was just tuesday"

I do thank phil for the dictator hat though, because it's honestly one of the most entertaining things he's ever done for the detractors. and it's gonna be really funny when phil is forced to retire the hat because the detractors think it's hilarious and "put on the M. Bison hat" will become a detractor meme and ban anyone who asks for it

Sounds like it’d be a great start to the OxyContin/Percocet saga for Phil.

The dentist will take one look at Phil, realize that he’s dealing with a pasty faced super pussy, and be extra generous with the painkillers.

Within a few weeks, DSP’s Champions account will go on hiatus, but for some odd reason he’ll start to do fundraisers “to save the house” and extra tax bills several times a week.

Phil’s autistic rocking back and forth will increase by 200%, while he’s sweating, shaking, itching himself and repeating “I need that money, I REALLY need that money because eh stuff going on behind the scenes!”

At least for once he won’t be lying!

The best part is because he lied and said he was gifted Amazon giftcards (HA! As if) to purchase these hats, he has to sit there and see that hat every time he streams knowing he is out that money. He could make 100 dollars and he would still get mad because he spent money on it, his own money.

The fact that in a month or two you can say “what happened to that hat, Phil?” he will say, “I had to retire it because the trolls made me, because they tried to make me look bad, but it’s a good thing it wasn’t my own money” knowing deep down that he lost that money, his marathon money nonetheless, and it’s all because of people cracking jokes at his expense.

That must suck to be so dishonest that you can’t even tell anyone about the lie you are trying to perpetuate.

But of course the trolls have no effect on him

He's replying to a Diago match where Diago playing RYU, someone phil couldn't even dream of being on the same level as, stuffed dahlsim pokes in SF4, which still happens in SF5 the thing is there's not a lot of RYU players since he sucked till this season. MDZJimmy has done it a lot.

SHOCKING Phil once again has no idea what he's talking about, it's the equivalent of a Facebook karen and her "science" she got from a 10 year old youtube clip. At this point I think he has a stock response to anytime SFV is on his twitter.

Phil really is his own worst enemy. He just has to do the dumbest shit, almost on instinct, providing an almost endless source of material for people to make fun of him. It's almost a shame because 9 times out of 10 he is one of the most boring people on the internet. He's on the cusp of being mundane enough to just slip under the radar and finish his life begging quietly on YouTube. But like clockwork and in typical lolcow fashion, he does something retarded and the jokes pour and the thread pages keep rolling.
