I watched many of his videos when he first started his Youtube channel, and back then I found many of his views sensible and surprisingly grounded in objective reality. That was back when he lived in France (he's Scottish) and worked as a journalist. Then he moved to the Philippines and blew all his money on tranny prostitutes, and you could practically feel the deterioration of his psyche and it was reflected in content he began to produce after that. It's all been downhill from there.

I would say that it's very different; perhaps so much different that they should not be compared at all. Throughout the ages, men have cross-dressed either for their personal sexual gratification (AGPs) or to attract and "trap" the straight men they desire (HSTS). The reasons have always been rooted in sexuality, however. For women it's been a way to avoid male attention, not to attract it, and this especially makes sense given how restrictive women's clothing and women's social station used to be. You could not get a job or even travel by yourself. Joining the navy was a way out for destitute young men, but a woman had to cross-dress to disguise herself as a man to be given the same opportunity (and plenty did; some were found out but many went on to serve for years without being outed). This was not sexually motivated.

I find camp and prison lesbians an interesting case precisely because they existed in a closed and restrictive environment where identity concealment was impossible. Both men and women were equally powerless in such places, so there was no moving up the ladder. Camps and prisons were at least partly sex-segregated, so there was no mistaking a female for a male or vice versa. Nevertheless, passive homosexual males and active homosexual lesbians cross-dressed frequently. Ostensibly, as a way to signal their sexual role.

I've seen this trend a couple of times on twitter recently. When confronted with some uncomfortable truths, they just deny everything with a "nope", covering their eyes and going la la la, then pretend it's a "fact check".

I understand that it is meant to be snarky. Unfortunately, Twitter is not a platform for serious discussions due to its text length restrictions, but it has become the main place for political arguments, for one reason or another. And so, every spat consists of trying to out-funny each other.

Tumblr had many of the same faults, but at least it did not encourage assertions without evidence or argumentation. Back in the day, it was quite a power move to post a ten-thousand-word quote-mined essay on why greygenders are valid.

Why is it always "x says we don't exist". Nobody says troons don't exist, especially when they wave their dicks in their children's faces, they're just refusing to indulge their fetish and pretend they're women.

What's striking is that the TIMs in the video game industry are usually way more over the top 'feminine' than the actual women. Like others have said, it's more socially acceptable (for lack of a better word) for men to have some signs of age on their face whereas a purely youthful look is seen as more ideal in women. Hence the idea that men 'age better' because they won't be judged in the same way for having wrinkles and gray hair. But on a physical level women tend to 'age better' if only because they take better care of their skin. Most women have a skincare routine even if it's just basic moisturizer and/or sunscreen. So if you put a bunch of random average 40-year-old men and women in a room the women would likely look 'better' for their age in terms of wrinkles and sun damage, etc.

I genuinely don't know if estrogen has anything to do with it. Transmen do seem to age worse but that might be because they skip the skincare to be more manly. No idea.

Another interesting thing I've noticed is that despite the fact that male actors are 'allowed' to age more, a lot of male Hollywood actors these days are also doing intense anti-aging stuff as the female ones are, so that the men all have bizarre ageless faces at age 50 now, just like the women do.

This is what I'm going to say when anyone proclaimed that FtMs pass better. It is not just about testosterone having a stronger effects to the body - because anyone who learned to clock FtMs, will easily spot one if seeing one real life. Plenty of historical women assumed men's identity for a long time, even without exogenous hormones... Because they don't expect women to behave or dress in a way they deem only reserved for men. In our culture we have a strict standard what women should look like, and women who deviated from it quickly are not seen as women, or to be desired in that way.

This is also the reason that created the notion that "men ages better" in the previous conversation - because aging women lost the sexual value that made them desirable as women.

Supposedly if taking T became normalised in women. A balding, pot bellied women that would look like some trucker dude to our current standard would become common. And we would end up knowing that "this is a female" anyway, because of hips, hands size, facial structure, or something about the voice that's not quite male. - just like women's working and wearing trousers were unfathomable for people in the 1800s.

(And I kind of wish it to happen, to see troons losing legitimacy by having to many of them)

I think both MTFs and FTMs look like shit and it’s beyond skin care and hygiene. It’s a result from a messed up endocrine system. MTFs have shitty hair comped to their before pictures. They are low T males. I think people tend to forget that. FTMs have beer bellies and despite high T they are too lazy to work out. No male or female can be at optimal health (and attractiveness by extension) by replacing their natural hormones with cross sex hormones. Chromosomes are part of your DNA it’s what makes you male. Just like how DNA encodes genes that express our physical traits. They spew this nonsense as a “gotcha” but then get mad at people like Racheal Dolezal because she says she’s black for spray tanning and perming her hair, whereas he puts on a choker, a skirt and is therefore a woman. To be fair, after her death a lot of colleagues did note that she had a high-pitched voice, mannerisms were off etc. They just couldn't put it together because a woman dressing and acting like a man weren't something they considered. I imagine this is in the past with "passing" MtFs too - people did notice, but they just didn't have the toolbox to put together exactly why these people were off.

Sorry, it is time for my long sperg about how much harder things have gotten for 'classic' transsexuals in the last 15 years or so.

I know a few older FtMs. One of them I met on several occasions before I knew he was trans (because he brought up taking testosterone in a conversation). This was in the late 2000s. Another I knew was trans before I met him, because he was the partner of a friend of mine and they were open about it, but I probably would not have clocked him.

Ironically the only MtF I know of meeting who I did not clock is a lolcow here (Brianna Wu). I only met her briefly in a group setting in the early 2000s and I remember thinking 'wow, she is very tall' and then going on with my life without another thought.

People in this thread say trans people are always clockable, there are always physical differences, and so on, but forget that before 10-15 years ago people simply were not looking out for this stuff. If you met a member of one sex who looked unusual or had weird mannerisms you would assume they were gay or autistic. Your second assumption would be maybe a hormonal disorder. Being trans just did not come up mentally because outside of certain communities they were so rare that most people had never knowingly met one. I don't remember if I thought anything was 'off' about my FtM friend but if I had, it would have led to an assumption that he was gay, because that was my total experience with unusually non-masculine men. At the time I just did not have the mental schema for detecting trans people, even if I technically knew that they existed.

This is one reason I have a lot of sympathy for older trannies who have put effort into passing and leading relatively normal lives. Not only has their movement been taken over by creepy AGPs, they now have to deal with a general public that has been primed to look for and recognize them. A lot of them pass less than they used to, not because of physical changes but because so many people now observe anything unusual about a person's presenting gender and conclude 'TRANS!'
