Are there even any flightless birds in the Western Med? I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect the writers of the Bible to know what a fucking penguin is.

I should've really clarified what I meant in my original supply: I'm not a Roma, I don't know why my roots lie but I'm a traveller for sure, though I know that we share the same values when it comes to gay people and trans people. I don't agree with those traditions, but regardless of what I think at all my point was just that collectively, us two nomadic groups, really really don't give a fuck about the LGB and trannies, and co-opting our flag for your little photoshoot is completely ridiculous.

I don't know what it is about this dude but he's one of the most repulsive troons I've seen on the 'Tok. While he's not physically the ugliest one something about his demeanor makes my skin crawl. The forced falsetto voice, the ever-present MySpace angle, the standard AGP eyeliner, the being a middle-aged balding man with moobs dressed like a 14-year-old Melanie Martinez fan and that weird hand motion tell everything in me to RUN.

And even then I strongly suspect that of those 50% that say they would, most actually wouldn't. It's one thing to say "yes" on a questionnaire, it's another to have to actually deal with an amhole/frankensausage

That, plus I think a lot of people, even in the TQIA+ gang, still don't fully understand the reality of the amhole/frankenweenie and buy into the same pornsick myth that a man can go under the knife and come out with a neo-vagina totally indistinguishable from the genuine article.

I have to believe if you showed them what they'd actually be dealing with a lot of those earnest votes would also change to a no.

I wouldn't be that sure. Bipolar could explain gender dysphoria and despaired fixation of top surgery solving anything. Bipolar tends go with extreme emotions and almost paranoid delusions. Also life going shit because your mood swings make it hard to plan long term and control yourself. Hating oneself and wanting to do something dramatic is fairly expected.

PTSD I'm more doubtful as people tend want diagnosis from hyping themselves into frenzy over minor life obstacles. Being paranoid and feeling effects of that isn't the same thing as actually going trough dramatic stress from horrendous experiences.

The very words “diversity” and especially “inclusion” give me the creeps. Once it was about not passing over equally-qualified women or non-white people or homosexual people for jobs. Emphasis on the “equally-qualified” part. It’s now turned into “hire troons, no matter how useless they are”. Or “hire people who identify as a racial minority, even if they clearly aren’t, and are also useless”. It’s haram to suggest that someone with either quality may not be up to the job. There’s no diversity-hiring for LGB people now, since apparently anyone can grow a neck beard or dye their hair blue and claim to be “queer” even though they are obviously heterosexual.

The African mega fauna was known throughout most of the Middle East and North Africa around the time the Old Testament was compiled, which would include ostriches, which are a type of flightless bird.

Of course it wouldn't be reasonable to expect them to know about penguins, and that was my whole point. If you want to highlight how the Bible got it wrong, use an animal that appears to violate the laws of nature.

Librarianship tends to be the Island of Broken Toys. People can fall into it because they can’t figure what else to do, like law school for autists. Certainly not all of them, and there are many different types of librarians who work in different settings (public, medical, corporate). But if you are in a unionized, public system, you will be dealing with employees who tend to be lefty, and a lot of mental illness/autism. Because once they pass probation, they're almost impossible to fire, no matter how crazy/incompetent they are.

I have no problem with the FtM troons I've worked with - everyone regards them as just peculiar women, and the ones I've known have been good workers.

The dangerhairs who aren't actually trans, but who are so desperate for oppression points they call themselves queer, are universally awful. Everyone else is transphobic, fatphobic, problematic (they tend to be fat as well). They do things like try to take the library Christmas tree down, because "not everyone is Christian", despite the fact that the non-Christian kids who visit the library love the fucking shiny Christmas tree. They try to make everyone put pronouns in their e-mail signatures, etc.

I haven't run into any MtF troons in my job, except as customers. I think it's because the job relies on a lot of social skills that men don't have. We're de facto teachers and social workers. Coomers aren't into actual woman's work. Here endeth my library sperging.
