Sometime last year Ash was apparently approached by the production company behind My 600-Lb Life asking if she would be interested in being in the show. And rather than just saying 'no," she went on this whole tirade about the evils of the show:
Every fear and insecurity must be recorded. Every swollen limb gets a close-up. Have to step sideways through a doorway? Get that on camera. And boy are they ever going to need to film you eating.

The producers of this show will take great care to show the parts of you that the audience will find most horrifying. They want you to seem grotesque. Monstrous. It is very important that your very existence seems as shocking and tragic as possible and that your body seems hideously inhuman.

And you know what? Fine. Contrary to conventional HAES, body-pos wisdom, nobody's actually going to force you to undergo weight loss surgery, no matter how desperately painful your existence appears from the outside. And if you think it's wrong for the monstrously fat to allow themselves to be exploited (or whatever) in return for money/goods/services, then okay, man, whatever you say.

But to then turn around and parade your own monstrously fat body in exchange for (presumably) money from an athleisure-wear company of dubious intent (because c'mon, who are we kidding here) seems... like a weird choice, right? I fail to see the practical difference between the two. If anything, body-conforming workout leggings for the 600 lb-plus crowd seems like even more of a cruel prank. And regardless of the purpose or objective of these two purportedly diametrically-opposed media projects, they both end with people shuddering to themselves as they gaze upon your misshapen, corpulent mass on the internet.

Ash has filmed many explicit feeder porn videos as well, but sure, M6LL--a somewhat tacky show, but a show with an actual goal of improved health and mobility nonetheless--is super-degrading and exploitive because it shows off fat people's deformed bodies.
 
Off topic, but does anyone here have an interest in a LearningtoBeFearless board dedicated to Alexandra Rodriguez? Every forum dedicated to her gets shut down and harassed by the mods for body shaming, but I dont think that'll be a problem here 😏

WLS surgery in Mexico at 16, chin lipo and a recent panniculectomy to remove her fupa (while still morbidly obese which has resulted in a very unfortuate body shape).

I had to look up "panniculectomy" as I've never heard of it and based on the before/after images it seems as if they're not only removing skin, but loads and loads of fat mass. Is that correct? I've understood from the past that one of the reasons you can't do much liposuction at a time, is because the body will enter some sort of shock from it which can be quite dangerous. This, I was told, is the reason why you do things like WLS instead to stop the ongoing feeding rather than sucking out the excess weight outright. Now it seems to be that panniculectomy is actually a free pass, because it allows excess fat to be cut out directly without the dangers of liposuction or WLS. I don't think I've ever heard FAs complain about this procedure before, but they do critique WLS and also liposuction quite a lot.
