I know it's Kotaku but the fucking absolute state of "journalism". They announce him as being dead with zero proof, citing the Google doc as their only "evidence". Looking forward to this guy looking like a total retard after the troon miraculously survives his codeine OD.

It would be a real shame if some KF Twitter users started searching "Alec Holowka" on Twitter, and then screenshotted all of the people who were celebrating his suicide. It would be an even bigger tragedy if that person then matched up the screenshots with accounts who are currently reeeeeeing over KF, and then replied to their reees with said screenshots.
Just a big fucking tragedy.

I know this isn't a universally partisan issue, but many of the people saying this shit are the same ones who insisted that Drumpf telling people to make their voice heard "peacefully and patriotically" was not only insufficient, but in fact a dogwhistle to riot.
Obviously the website says not to troll! That's what THEY want you to think! Hurr, never-mind the bans or halals that happen when people (rarely) get caught engaging in trolling, pure coincidence.

Yeah, to my knowledge the guy was a great programmer but clearly had mental issues up the wahoo. I don't think he did anything to merit an heroing himself. I might be a bit biased since I'm depressed in addition to being on the spectrum, but I feel bad for the guy. Rest in peace.

That being said, the twitter meltdown is absolutely worth laughing at. Instead of targeting a forum brimming with autists, why not advocate for better, proper mental health treatment?
Then again, that would require closing twitter and getting off of their asses for five minutes :story:
