Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I'm not gonna walk into the supermarket with my insurgency uniform on with "I Bomb Biden`s Balls" written on the back of my jacket. And the level of control that would be required to restrict food so much as to starve out an insurgency dependent on sympathizers, would just lead to more aggressive resistance, people would wig the fuck out if you had to let your home be searched to get a tightly restricted bread allowance. Its a losing game.

We have nearly half a century of solid proof that pretty much every standing military out there is simply incapable of fighting an insurgency effectively. And that's the whole entire point of insurgency. They bleed their opponents morale, a death of a thousand cuts. If the opponent tries to squeeze them tighter, it just leads to more people fighting back.

we had left wing insurgencies with bombings, shootings and raids in the 60's and 70's and they were defeated by the government. You assume that your sympathizing will go unpunished by counter insurgent antagonists along with the assumption that there would even be bread in the stores in insurgent areas. and in the world of high tech surveillance, the crazy guy with tons of ammo is going to have to move all that shit around because having 1 ammo dump would lead to his demise. LIke i said, any insurgency would get a few early but small victories and then would be squashed by the government (city, state and federal). none of you idiots have addressed how the insurgency would even handle the state's attempt to lockdown the insurgency. And in the case of a confederacy, it would be total war and all the kvetching about "we're civilians and citizens you can't kill use" is just a cope, seethe and dilating because you dumb reatrds can't even be bothered to remember how syria and vietnam played out. America was the insurgency in vietnam.

No, most of the woke military guys I run into are POG blue falcon types who exaggerate the nature of their service since they mostly drove forklifts and got angry about the Marines looking better in uniform. It's a pretty consistent type across the board.
 
Imagine the army occupying the Appalachians, Eastern CA, OR, and WA, or just Texas in general. You'd be fighting the Deplorables on their own turf, it'd be Vietnam all over again.

Well, these last 10 pages have been a wild ride.

I'll throw in my .02 just for grins. It has been mentioned here and there so far. Any politician ordering the US military to start killing its own citizens is very likely to find themselves looking straight into the barrel of that same gun.

I just don't see it happening, ever. Little Johnny Soldier is not going to go into his hometown and start shooting people he went to school with, families he grew up with, friends, etc. just because some gubmint lackey ordered him to do it. He'll either drop his weapon or turn it in the opposite direction.

I have strong faith that this would be the likely outcome if it was to occur. At least among the majority of rank/file military.

I believe the UN peacekeepers and the foreign legion our CIA maintains is for this exact scenario. Folks that have 0 loyalty to the civilians of the United States.

UN peacekeepers are almost universally hated and are for target practice only. Otherwise there aren't enough foreign fighters to maintain control in a country as big, as populous and as well-armed as the United States.

I doubt there'd be any UN peacekeepers unless China decides to paint their helmets blue.
If America is busy fighting a civil insurrection, then they can't continue to be the resident hyperpower keeping in check upstarts and running the global economy.

That shit will leave a void that'll have every other nation too busy trying to fortify their backyard when the inevitable conflict arises between countries who want their place in the sun.

They weren't defeated by the government, they were set back by force, moved into academia and subsquently became the government.

The internal threat "they" are likely scared shitless about is cyberwarfare. We've seen some accounts recently. Makes you wonder how many other times something has happened and never made the media. Not all the smart people work for the government/Big Tech. Why commit one small act of violence when you can do something much bigger, affecting far more people, from a computer, safe at another location?

"They" always prepare to fight the last war. "They" always talk about gun control measures, when computers can be a much larger threat. Joe says get F-15s and nukes to fight the government. Nah, if you have people with smarts and computers those fighters and nukes are rather impotent...like Joe.
