I don't think they realistically can. After a point the person visiting has a clear right to say "Fuck this, I'm out" and to pull out without any loss of face. In fact, 5 hours is poking up against that already and I'm kiiinda surprised that the Biden Admin didn't try to weasel their way out.

Unless it's on live video, I doubt anyone would show or tell about anything embarrassing that happened, Biden has veto power on what people are allowed to quote about him, unless it's captured live, or Putin decides to brag about what he did.
One thing I'm expecting to happen is for Putin to compare Biden unfavorably to Trump again, and for journalists to spin that in an anti-Trump/pro-Biden way, as if Trump and Putin were friends, and Biden is the tough-guy standing up to him.
