iCarly is about to get steamy!
Jerry Trainor - who is reprising his role as Spencer Shay on the upcoming reboot - revealed that the Paramount+ series will be a bit more mature than fans of the original remember.
"We're going to toe that line, you know what I mean? It's not going to be super-raw," Trainor, 44, told Page Six. "But yeah, there's going to be sexual situations."

He added, "And you know, I say 'damn it' in the trailer, which had everyone in a tizzy, but you know we're grown-ups."

In the same interview, Nathan Kress - who fans know as Freddie Benson - told the outlet, "This is an adult show and it's not specifically for kids."
Kress, 28, continued, "And that's been exciting for us - to just see where these characters from a kid's show would be and where they are in their life now, 10 years later. But in a very realistic, non-glossy way."

Miranda Cosgrove has also spoken about the increased maturity of the series.
"My biggest hope for the revival is that it brings the people who watched the original series a lot of joy," the actress, 28, told J-14 in January. "The new show is mainly being made with all the original fans in mind."
Cosgrove added, "Although we hope families will enjoy it together, this version of the show will be more mature and follow our lives now."

iCarly originally ran on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012.
At the time, the show was intended for a younger audience and "sexual situations" were kept to simple smooches.

In PEOPLE's exclusive first look at the Paramount+ iCarly reunion special, Cosgrove opened up about some of the kissing scenes she filmed with actors James Maslow and Kress on the original series.
"I have two funny memories [from that time]," she began. "My first kiss I ever had in my whole life was with James Maslow in the episode where he was in a hospital bed, and I had to kiss him while he was unconscious."

She continued, "My second kiss I ever had in my entire life was with [my costar] Nathan on the show. Nathan had, like, a girlfriend or a girl he liked there on set that day watching us kiss."

The revival was announced last December and in May, the cast revealed the premiere date on June 17 while celebrating Cosgrove's 28th birthday.

Along with original cast members Cosgrove, Kress, and Trainor, new stars Laci Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett will be joining the cast.
Jennette McCurdy, who played Sam Puckett in the original series, confirmed earlier this year that she had quit acting, and will not appear in the revival.
Speaking to Entertainment Weeklyearlier this month, Cosgrove revealed how the new show plans to tackle the whereabouts of McCurdy's character.

"We touch a lot on the whole relationship with Sam and where Sam's at in the pilot episode," Cosgrove said. "And then we mention her a little bit throughout the season, so we'll definitely explain that on the show."
The iCarly revival series premieres June 17 on Paramount+. In the meantime, fans can watch all six seasons of the original series on the ViacomCBS streaming service.

Oh, it's a cast of former child actors. I sleep.

With all the pedoshit on Netflix, I thought they meant there'd be @BoxerShorts47 action.

I'm pretty sure there was already sexual stuff going on in the old show...

Well Sam is not coming back because of sexual stuff on set...
Never forgetti the regretti.

They should make a Gummy Bears live reboot except all they do is ass fuck each other nonstop.

"This is an adult show and it's not specifically for kids."

Haven't we been saying for ages that all of these reboots and remakes aren't for kids but for adults? I remember I said last night it was even specifically for the people involved in making them to fulfil their fantasies.

Oh, boy, I hate being right sometimes.

ETA: Also, it's kind of creepy that the one saying this is the only adult of the show.

I guess Jackie from the Derich thread is going to have a heap of coomer material from his favorite show afterall. Feet pics ahoy!

Why was this greenlit when they've all grown out of Dan Schneider's age preference?
the zoomer dollar. ironic.

In more detail, Paramount started their own streaming platform and needs content. Miranda Cosgrov is still game and the other major actors, aside from Jennette, are too. Can't really do a Victorious reboot since Ariana Grande is a huge star now and probably wants a ton of money. Not sure about Victoria Justice. Paramount is also producing a new Beavis and butthead movie as well. And those Star Trek shows.

O-bligatory

And also obligatory

This show seems to almost explicitly be made for that select demographic of "people who watched the original show and didn't get enough fap material out of the gratuitous camera shots of prepubescent girls' bare feet and occasionally their flat chests in bathing suits" and I hate everyone involved.

On the bright side the cast is no longer pedobait so I expect nostalgia to only carry this trainwreck a couple seasons before they realize the coomers that kept them afloat before were pedo coomers.

I was gonna say he sounds like an edgy teen. But then he said "tizzy" and now he's grandma.

I have a feeling the steamyness is gonna be cringe. So I hope it's so bad it's funny. I hope that there's no underage girl feet now that Dan is out of the picture.

I know some of these people are probably desperate for relevancy. But these shows are all better left in the dust considering the feet. And what happened to Jeanette and God knows who else. She says she didn't really want to act but was pressured by her family, who needed the money. And being that it's rather obvious Dan "footman" Schneider sexually abused her, I imagine there's a ton of bitterness and hurt. I wouldn't want to go back to acting either.

She was used as a cash cow by adults who should have gotten second jobs if the family needed more money. They probably guilted her a lot to stay in the business.

McCurdy then revealed on her Empty Inside podcast in March that she had ended her acting career "a few years ago."

"I quit a few years ago because I initially didn't want to do it. My mom put me in it when I was 6 and by sort of age, I guess, 10 or 11, I was the main financial support for my family," she said at the time.
"And it was very much the pressure of my family [not having] a lot of money, and this was the way out," she continued. "Which I actually think was helpful in driving me to some degree of success, because I don't think I would have been as ambitious if I didn't know that it was for my family."

McCurdy, who also portrayed her iCarly character on the Sam & Cat spinoff series, said that she was "embarrassed" and "unfulfilled" by her past acting roles.

"I get that this answer is super unlikable," she explained on her podcast. "I resent my career in a lot of ways. I feel so unfulfilled by the roles that I played and felt like it was the most cheesy, embarrassing [thing]. I did the shows that I was on from like, 13 to 21, and by 15, I was already embarrassed."

Did anyone see that short film she made where a girl is crying to her mother about being molested. Then someone yells "cut" and it turns out it's a test run by a child actresses' family because she has an audition. Then they all start yammering about how much money they're gonna make. It's very telling. And depressing.

Editing because the lovely Kiwi about posted it.
