Swiss voters block Co2 bill which was presented to combat climate change

Swiss CO2 law defeated at the ballot box

Swiss voters have rejected legislation at the heart of the country’s strategy to abide by the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

The swiss goverment introduced a bill which proposed a new price increase for fuel and other commodities. Switzerland already has a system inplace where CO2 is taxed and the Swiss citizens are compensated in other parts for example social security. When the bill was introduced it had wide acceptance but the SVP (Schweizer Volkspartei) drummed up support to block the bill. The bill was blocked with a 51.6 % no vote. Interestingly only 3 cantons voted yes. those three were - quel suprise- the urban cantons Basel, Zurich and Geneva.

This makes me wonder if other countries will sit up and take notice or rather say "Oh those stupid Swiss with their direct democracy they don't know what's good for them" I for one am glad that there are at least some who still have enough awareness to question this bullshit.

We will run out of coal in 114 years. Burning coal in the west should be viewed as virtuous, because that Coal won't be burned in a developing country where they don't filter the emissions at all. Millions of people die due to the emissions each year. Burning fossil fuels in developed countries could save millions of lives. We just need to burn more, so that countries like China can't holocaust their citizens with particulates. If we burn it all, at least some poor negroes in Africa can't gas themselves.
 
Globohomos are so mad that the C02 bill got rejected.
2 Incredibly ambitious stupid bills about pesticide also got rejected.
There's 2 bills:
-One to protect the water from pesticides
-The other to prohibit the use of "synthetical" pesticides

The first one would block subsidies to farmers if they use pesticides and don't actively try to protect the ground water table. Livestock producers should lower the use of drugs and producte X% of their grain.
This would fuck over a lot of farmers and livestock producers while also lowering the production which will also force us to increase importation.


The second wants to make illegal "synthetical" pesticides in 10 years. So no use,no selling,no using nor importing things with "synthetical" persticides. My main gripe with this one is how extreme it is and also how "synthetical" pesticides doesn't means anything at all it's just a shitty made up term.

And a bill about counter terrorism passed even if globoshomos whinned a lot about it.

That's pretty neat. It is a pity that they are already bound to the Paris Accord. If people of the world want to live free, they should start to reduce the influence of the non-democratic international and supranational organizations.

Also, they are asked sometimes. They have referendums more often. The west get the general elections, and call it a day.

Honestly environmental activists are fighting a losing battle, the real problem isn't two mile a gallon pickup trucks. It's overpopulation.

Luckily millennials aren't having kids so that should buy us like a couple of years

Well the Swiss recently dropped the negotiations for an outline agreement with the EU. Though in essence you are right Switzerland is partially bound to the EU but without any say in the regulations. And we should all remember Switzerland already has a CO2 price system imlemented. This was just a new step in this regulations. but the EVP rallied enough support to block this (for now)
 
It's a shame people are too scared about what scientists predict to acknowledge and do anything about it.

We probably won't all die or anything, but it'll suck for kids who have to live with increased heat, flooding and drought.
 
What effect could Switzerland possibly have that matters in any way?

They may have to deal with those things regardless of changes in energy consumption.

Be more concerned about water/air/soil pollution.

Wait until 2050. According to statistics half of Earth's population will be concentrated in two countries: Nigeria and Kongo (i think Kongo was the second one) . So yeah. Africa will outfuck us in a few years. If you worry about drought and so on worry more about the people that will come from the south
 
Reminder that the G7 just removed all specific target dats on what used to be their hard commitment to moving away from internal combustion vehicles by 2030.

There really needs to be a word like coonery but for whites.

Your daily reminder that the weak greenhouse gas the world is losing it's shit over is around 0.0416% of the Earth's atmosphere. It's been significantly higher before and all it did was breed megafauna and huge plants. You can continue to believe the Prophets of Mother Earth but do remember they have always proven incorrect. And really don't like the words "Medieval Warm Period."

Wanna blow peoples' minds? Tell them how the climate scare started as global cooling/new ice age in the late 60s/early 70s, then flipped to global warming in the late 80s, then became generic climate change c. 2009
