Thats why I suggested reading a book on Dialetical behavioral Therapy, or taking a class on it because it would probably help you a lot.

Anyway, since you wanted to know about pretzel pizza, IMO it's pretty good. I still prefer stuffed crust but the texture of the pretzel is nice. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something a little different than the regular pizza experience.

Childhood abuse is definetely a plausible theory, but I do think autism is another really plausible ones. Kids really commonly get crushes on fictional characters, regardless of the characters age. A kid having a crush on an adult cartoon character is a common thing. I'd suspect that the 'tism could make someone with a crush like that hyperfixate on it and not grow out of it, leading to a situation like Hailey. Plus, the autism would also explain naivity with stuff like how it seems sexual or creepy, though I feel like I'm giving too much benefit of the doubt there.
There's also the fact autists like kids media. Simple messages, easily expressed emotions, it's easy to understand what's happening. And they're usually distinct, colourful, fun to look at, and easy to insert your own characters into.
It's hard to say for certain. Because pretty much every trait could be attributed to trauma, or to tism. It's hard to tell.
