If you’re looking for some fresh inspiration, having a read of the most common sexual kinks could be a good place to start.

Handy, then, that the team at IllicitEncounters has surveyed 2,000 people to find out men and women’s top kinks.

Interestingly, there’s a bit of a divide between men and women’s preferred sex acts.

The women surveyed gave al fresco sex – think sex on the beach, in the woods, under the stars – as their favourite way to add some excitement to the mix, while top place on the men’s list is making DIY porn.

Also surprising: despite these kinks all being common, quite a few of the people surveyed said they keep their kink-related fantasies a secret from their partners – 32% of men and 31% of women.

That’s despite the majority – 74% of men and 67% of women – saying they have a kinky side.

The top sexual kinks, according to this survey:

Women’s top 10:
  1. Sex outdoors
  2. Blindfolded sex
  3. Body piercings
  4. Role play
  5. Dressing up/sexy costumes
  6. Filming each other having sex (DIY porn)
  7. Domination/submission
  8. Food play
  9. Spanking and whips
  10. Tying up
Men’s top 10:
  1. DIY porn
  2. Role play – specifically with uniforms
  3. Bondage – spanking and whips
  4. Sex outdoors
  5. Threesomes
  6. Rubber/latex and leather
  7. Domination/submission
  8. Body piercings
  9. Food play
  10. Blindfolded sex

Now, as IllicitEncounters is a site for having affairs, their team has spun these stats as a reason to stray outside your relationship.

Their relationship expert Jessica Leoni said: ‘A lot of people start an affair because their regular partner will not indulge their kinky side.

‘The beauty of online dating is that you can be upfront with people and let them know in advance that you would like to kink it up if you get together.

‘The issue lots of people in long-term relationships have is that their kinky side develops over time and they find that they eventually have different sexual needs that their regular partner can never satisfy.’

But please bear in mind: of course a dating site that benefits from people having affairs would suggest an affair is the answer to any sexual issues.

Our advice? Try some open, honest communication with your partner around sex-related things you’d like to try.

Keep it light, have fun, and feel out what does the trick for both of you.

You might find that something you’ve long fantasised about isn’t that great IRL, or, on the flipside, you might dip your toe into a partner’s kink and find you absolutely love it. That’s part of the fun.

Experiment, venture outside your comfort zone, and don’t push forward if something is uncomfortable or not pleasurable.

But don’t feel as though your sexual preferences are so shameful that your only option is to cheat on a partner – if they’re the right person for you, they’ll at least hear you out without making you feel judged.

I assume this survey is of users of IllicitAffairs so it's skewed towards cheaters, but I wish they'd specify.

I don't see "rape" so this is false.
If they had to disguise the responses to not get brigaded by feminists, it might fall under role play (without costumes)

Edit: Due to the slant of the results being "how to spice things up on the bedroom", I imagine the question was worded as kinks you can actually participate in. Lesbian is probably hidden under Threesomes.

Who the fuck wants to have sex outside. There are bugs, there’s sand, there’s other people. Gross.

Next thing you know you’ve got your dick stinged by a bee.

"Blindfolded Sex", "Role Play", "Dom/sub", "spanking and whips", and "Tying Up" are all polite ways of saying "rape". Also "Sex outdoors", since that's where rapists are likely to get you.

Basically, the authors are saying that of the most popular fetishes, at least sixty percent is rape.

this is so depressing it almost funny
I mean dude I just want my penis in a vagina I can get getting aggressive in the bedroom but I'm a man of course, Im dominant sexually.
I wanna have sex with a woman though not a fucking punching bag lol

In the men's list, where's "loving relationship with straightforward woman who won't recoil at the whiff of vulnerability"?

I don't see "rape" so this is false.
I came to post exactly the same. The closest option is #7. I guess that being this a site for meeting strangers, nobody wants to risk themselves to actually being raped so they won't mention it.

I thought they were into "rape", not rape.

You guys are putting way too much thought into this. The list should have screamed "bullshit!" as soon as it became evident that buttfucking was on neither list.

My kink is not hearing people talk about sex all of the fucking time. I get it: boobs are nice and rubbing penis feel good, etc., but for Christ's sake get a hobby.
