-Mario Odyssey is at best, OK, Sunshine is just a better game, let alone Galaxy and 64.
-Sonic > Mario, the Gameplay, Story and Music are just more interesting in Sonic, even with how bad some Sonic games can get.
-Master System aged better than the NES, wich was OK at best, a lot of the games on the NES rely on intentionally shitty game design and a lot of BS to keep you playing longer. only a few exceptions such as Mario, Metroid, Kirby, and the RPG's like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, wich is barely a problem in most Master System games
-Megaman Starforce > Megaman Battle Network, like with Mario and Sonic, the story is just more interesting in Starforce.

The Magical Drop games are underrated and incredibly addicting. I would beg my parents to go to Pizza Hut when I was younger just to play their Neo Geo cabinet that had Magical Drop 3 on it. It's one of the few games I'm actually "good" at, the other being Pokemon Puzzle League/Challenge.

What games do that?
The Best Single Player MMO, Secret World, did that shit sometimes.

Headlights on a vehicle flash Morse Code, so you end up trying to figure out Morse Code and getting the truck to flash the headlights.

Holy shit, those missions REALLY sucked before the guides came out.

I didn't mind steampunk+ high fantasy like 12 but FF 15 straight up looked like Modern Day LA if you took away the swords.
i wish ff12 didnt have a fucked up development bc i love ivalice and the aesthetic but the story feels like it's patchworked between older ff storytelling and the more modern horseshit.

The soundtrack is lit.

I'm not sure the world needs an annual Persona release. Too dense, too formulaic. At least Eternal Punishment shook it up a little by focusing on adults.
My biggest problem with Persona 5 is the writing for the main cast. 3 and 4 did a pretty good job of having the teenage cast look and act like teenagers but for some reason 5 made all the characters obnoxious angst ridden brats. I did not like the writing at all even if the gameplay was the best in the series.

Sunshine is woefully underrated. The gameplay was varied and fun, the controls were tight, FLUDD was a rare case of a gimmick that actually added a lot to the game, the level designs were great with a lot of variety and packed with things to do, the music was catchy and the graphics were groundbreaking for the time (especially for the hardware).

When someone genuinely hates the game it's usually because they got filtered by the brilliant acapella levels you have to beat without FLUDD or because they're weirdly allergic to the tropical setting for some reason.

I love persona 4 for that reason the characters feel like real kids in school.

They gossip, hang out, and have realistic reactions to all the super weird shit that they find

True, now i may rephrase that i think 64 is the best one, followed by Sunshine, then both Galaxy games, tied, then Odyssey, 3D World, and the worst one imo, 3D Land.
although i still think Mario 64 is better, as that had more freedom of wich order you could get a star and is very replayable due to that, plus mario's moveset had a more momentum and speed to it, that at times makes you feel more like Sonic than Mario, that's why i dislike how the later 3D Mario games control compared to 64, with the only exception being, ironically, Odyssey, wich is a shame considering how "meh" the latter game is to me due to how easy it is, and how cappy can make it even easier, actually, 64's wide array of movements never made the game too easy, if anything they made it harder, and it requires way more skill to master them, in Odyssey you can just jump on cappy, throw the cap again and dive, but in 64 you had to air kick to not get fall damage, backflip or sideflip and then walljump, triple jump and then walljump, and that required more timing due to how the moves worked. such as how walljumping requires several well timed imputs, it's so satisfying.

FLUDD was honestly fine imo, and was less broken than Cappy, as the levels were designed with all the nozzles in mind, you still had unlock other nozzles to skip segments like you'd do in odyssey, so you probably already beaten most of the level by the time you get that Rocket or Boost nozzle, or Yoshi, wich for some reason melts on the water, that always weirded me out, but stuff like shooting water at the ground and then diving to slide at high speeds was always very satysfing, not as satysfying as mastering 64's controls but still satysfying, hell just shooting water at something and cleaning it was satysfying, although it still didn't match 64.

now what did Mario Galaxy do? it made everything clunkier, for some reason mario now just "stops" everytime he goes of a ledge, and he is nowhere near as versatile like in 64 and Sunshine, you can only run and jump, wich worked well in the 2D games, because they also had a great sense of momentum, but here it all feels lsow and clunky, and im not hating galaxy, it's still a great game but that bugs me with how well Sunshine and 64 controlled. same goes for 3D Land and 3D World, although 3D Land has way more problems than that.

I think Galaxy's controls were hobbled a bit by the game's core gimmick: running around on little spheres where gravity pulls you towards the center of mass (unless there's a black hole nearby) or in/on abstract structures where gravity is changed on a whim by blocks or panels. In other words, you weren't just dealing with moving a character around in 3D space, but there really wasn't a consistent "down" -- you had the usual "map player inputs to character movement in 3D space, accounting for camera position and vector" stuff, but now gravity's influence on the character isn't fixed (and not really Newtonian, either).

Start adding the more complex moves from Super Mario 64 and you'll probably give the developers and players nose bleeds trying to figure it out and get good at it.
