The statue was made by African-American artist Sanford Biggers. Its 25 feet tall.

This is like the perfect encapsulation of our current status with africans in america. Hideous, grotesque, in your face. If I were going to create a statue of myself, I'd make myself look better. Was he staring in the mirror high when he sketched it out? He must be self-conscious about the size of his ears because he has made them tiny (or non-existent) on the statue. Also, the free hand looks like it's ready to jerk off.
