I imagine that if enough people are armed with the photos that exist already, you could guess who he is in the con, unless he hides back stage the entire time in which he might as well not be there

Well, last year in October there was a whole fallout for a few days after Dream revealed that the vlog that was teased for months was a hoax. The vlog was supposed to be IRL meetup of Dream, George and Wilbur. But after few months Dream revealed that it was fake and that he never went to the UK and his then smaller and less toxic fanbase was still very upset. Archive

This video has some of the milder reactions and more context, comments under it are more reflective of how terribly it actually went down.

People were pissed at mostly Dream and George for hyping up something that didn't exist, “going dark” and being heartbroken. And that was when the fanbase still tried to police itself a little, few months away from the rise of the gore enthusiast “kittens”, who are given lime green light to do anything.

The animation also looks like shit. I've seen decent animators in his fandom but he chooses go with this? It looks like one of those cocomelon videos, soulless and stiff.

The singing sounds flat and off-key, as though he really can not sing without pitch correction, and the lyrics are just a bad as the previous. The animation style reminds me a bit of AJR's album covers, who seem to be his biggest inspiration. He's taking the basic formula of "generic pop song", without understanding what makes them so catchy and popular.

If he weren't already so rich off of merch and minecraft bux, I'd say that this is just a soulless cash grab.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a personal trainer, went to a dermatologist etc... or even got some plastic surgery before his face reveal. He has to much to loose if he don’t conform at least a bit to his fans’ “canon”.
