The Yakuza game series has an insane range of cultural insight and translative quirks that are meant to introduce cultural concepts. Translating if anything reveals how fucking dumb people are. They think knowing a language is half the work.

For what it's worth, the people who worked on (specifically) Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 localization made some questionable choices and for some reason intentionally made Kiryu more innocent, I guess to appeal to the fans who like that Kiryu is 'totally a virgin', wouldn't really use it as a golden standard, great games though.
 
It's too early for me to bother getting any screencaps, but the #mermay hashtag is filled with trannies. Troons love mermaids. I remember there was an artist whose streams I used to watch (figure out why I don't anymore) and one of the stream regulars was OBSESSED with mermaids because in his words it was like "eternal bondage." Later he talked about starting HRT soon. The tranny/mermaid connection is real. Just look up that hashtag and witness all the troons.

Agree, they are like most men who really have 0 clue what it entails. You just dont slap a pad or tampon on and bleed painlessly. It also can cause other issues not just very painful cramping. It can cause bloating, diarrhea, fatigue, ect. Some women bleed so badly they can bleed clots. It's not fun it's not cute no woman I know alive actually likes periods and are thankful when some birth control stops it. Almost every woman I know has an embarrassing story of bleeding through ect. That's why troons end up being caricature like in every way.

I vaguely remember finding someone a few years back who claimed to have drawn their trans OC as a mermaid because of the complete absence of human genitalia, and this being informed by her (the character’s, but really the artist’s) discomfort with that area.

I also remember hearing on a non-binary podcast (it’s deleted now, but the hosts were called Hyacinth and Reed) that trans people on general tend to associate themselves with mythical beings more broadly. And if I am to speculate beyond this, it’s that they often tend to see themselves as inhuman, either because they’ve been othered by the rest of society (what they’ll say), or because they want to be different and special from what is merely human (what they’ll think but not admit).
