All it means legally is someone was held without their consent. We don't know who. As for abuse of a corpse, my guess is being a cult, they did some weird ritual to try to resurrect her.

I want to know what she died of. She was emaciated for a long time. Was she a vegan?

I am confused about her wheelchair-bound state. Her legs were certainly atrophied of muscle, so I believe that she wasn't walking. Did she have a spinal cord injury and nerve damage? Did anyone see her moving her legs ever? Could she pee and poop normally or did she need medical supplies to do so? Did some poor unfortunate cult member have to carry her to the toilet and wipe her ass for her? Could she feel her lower body? Did she die of an infection which is a very common cause of death for wheelchair-bound people?

Also how pathetic are the people who worshipped an insane, ugly, clearly schizophrenic woman. God damnit there's so many better people to worship, lol.

I'm pretty sure in most states just leaving a dead body lying around is considered abuse of a corpse.

I hope we get to find out what, exactly, they've been doing with that fetid corpse this whole time, or what exactly has been keeping the cult together. You mean Roch Thériault? That guy was a genuine monster. He also killed a member and tried to resurrect her with bizarre rituals.

Cults rarely get caught on the first one. Even as absolutely batshit as Thériault was, he got away with murdering a baby previously, as well as two adults, with his bizarre pseudo-medical rituals.
