What exactly is the "bigger picture" because I'm not going to accept the idea that the United States is still inherently systematically racist against black folk - 'the bigger picture' is supported by a litany of self-made black millionaires within a society that's allegedly biased against them and their ability to gain and advance...how? I'm not seeing this systemic deterrent - you could argue there are still certain local police forces in rural areas and real estate owners in rural areas that may feel some sort of bias or hatred against black folk but that's..not systemic, it's local, and an inevitable product of a multicultural society - you can't stamp out every ounce of prejudice unless you draw everyone into the same category, these people often do everything they can to make themselves hidden or make sure anything they say and do doesn't reach mainstream, systemic media in a country that's systemically racist? In addition, fuckin' none of those things impact the fact that black people have risen above every element of former boundary in terms of individual prosperity and ability to grow and prosper by one's self in society and this allegedly biased country and system has allowed them to do this without massive repression.
Point being that when you establish your entire organization on ethos that are conjured up out of the fucking ether, things like corruption and a drive towards radicalism are inevitable, if not required, for the sake of actually going forward with your 'message' - when the mental gymnastics required to avoid cognitive dissonance are that fucking intense and olympic-level, the problem with your message and not the people you're giving your message to becomes really fucking obvious.
