I don't know shit myself but I was friends with someone who was a competitive cyclist and he'd spend several hours a day riding a bike. Also he watched his diet to an autistic degree and saw 2 doctors who specialised in sport medicine (one for his diet, one for performance).
And he wasn't a world champion of some shit, just a dude who was somewhat good at it.

Track cycling is a different beast, especially the sprint.
the training volume is wayyyy low (coaches often don't want you doing power hours, etc)
a individual sprint race might last 3 or 4 minutes (with all the positioning games) with only about 30-60 second of high effort (a lot of time you are pouring on the terminal juice for like 15 seconds..but you leave it all out on the track).

just to give you perspective (can't provide tooo many details for power level) but a dominant state champion where I am was a college wrestling champion.
it's why track wheels use high flanges and the track chains are so damn burly

It's one veteran cyclists often pick up b/c it's like "man, I just don't have time for 4hr rides all the time anymore"

that's not to say the diet and other elite training regimes aren't in play, it's just more powerlifter type stuff (heh, I actually put a competitive powerlifter friend on a track back in the day, my buddy who was a cat 2 roadie was visibly pissed that someone who didn't ride bikes could turn in those track times)

I use Tweetbot. TBH I have never forensically examined it, but going by my own tweets & a few other accounts of friends, it seems to be accurate. Its count went down on Rhys’s header by a few tweets a few days ago, then back up by one the day he tweeted about the 2nd vaccine. But I guess it could be giving a false result?

My hunch is there’s some scrubbing down going on though: coincides with his atypical recent silence, which makes me think someone reported specific tweets & Twitter has actually found him enough in violation to suspend him until he removes that content? Does he use ‘cunt’ as an insult? Reporting that on Twitter often (tho not always) gets an account nixed until it’s deleted.
