I like Sucker Punch, it was a bit too pretentious for its own good and that muddled up the message BUT I still like the movie. It is my "people just don't get it" movie but I will admit that Synder's writing does it no favors, maybe you could argue it was the other writers fault? The GoodBadFlicks guy has a very good take on it, I think.

Took 8 months for another video, and he only uploaded 2 proper videos in all of 2020 wowwhat a hard worker. Maybe we'll get one more proper video this year if we're lucky.

The fanboys in the Discord had a good time screenshotting negative feedback and posting it in the Discord to point and mock, and Mauler refers to the Snyder cut as the "True Sacred Cow" and says he's slayed it (Note these are just a few examples of people screenshotting comments, there's probably a hundred ones):

During the video it definitely comes off like he's trying to provoke them. He's banking on a fight with them. If that doesn't work, he'll go after the other Snyder films. He's hoping to find lolcows among them to milk. He and the rest of EFAP are hoping for this review to turn people against the films and get him renewed attention. We'll see what happens.

Indeed, it seems clear that he is banking on the attention he might get from stirring up a ruckus.
It will be an interesting litmus test to see how much of a hugbox EFAP has become, Mauler's regular viewers will for the most part just like or dislike whatever he does. I think, like @Cemila Mandes says, that most Snyder fans won't notice this video and the push back on this will be rather minimal.

Interestingly, Drinker is on a live stream with Az atm and talks about how he was invited on to the EFAP that covered the film, but he declined as he didn't want to end up in a '5 vs 1 defending a movie that he didn't love but thought was a lot better than the theatrical one'. Once again the aggressive circlejerk keeps away guests that know they might disagree.

Drinker's the closest thing we have to a protagonist of this story. There is clearly still hope for him. If he turns on EFAP, which he might not because he is a surprisingly nice person. This whole saga would be vastly improved if I actually felt invested in someone, since all the major figures for and against EFAP are all cows of various degrees, and not funny ones.

I'm sure he is provoking them, but he doesn't do well with negative backlash. If there was a big pushback, he would flip out on Twitter.

As for Drinker, I too hope the guy comes to his senses and disbands from EFAP, if Drinker wasn't as nice as he is I imagine we'd already see a proper falling out between the two.

If the backlash is a few assorted comments, then it won't bother him.

If the backlash results in the video having a significant amount of dislikes and being attacked on multiple platforms, like the Jenny Nicholson drama, he'll break down and retweet everyone defending him.
