Is there any more of an explanation beyond that though? I don't see how being gay and possibly wanting to crossdress would somehow be more "their fault" than a son who who wants to completely reject his male identity. I guess the explanation where it's more acceptable to make your gay son become a straight woman as opposed to continuing to exist as your gay son makes more sense to me.

Anyone can objectively tell you why the cashless basics card, aka Abodole, is shit and why there are people campaigning against it.

2. Aboriginal populations are serviced by state-based insurance provider with its own networks, which in turn is fed from a federal body whose name changes every fucking election cycle. When an Aboriginal person is admitted into hospital or requires specialist care, the bill goes to the state govt.

Also, Aborigines get sick a LOT. if they were purely on Medicare with the rest of us, they would singlehandedly bankrupt the system.

Being gay is seen as a result of being raised wrongly. Being trans on the other hand is seen as more of a birth defect. It's not the parents fault that they're son got a "female brain" or a "female soul" instead of a male one.

I'm not saying that it makes sense. But it's what religious nutters have told me.

It's probably less a matter of it being "their fault" than their wanting a normal heterosexual child. If their cis gay son transitions, they now have a straight daughter, and they'd rather pretend that he's a woman than ignore the fact that he's sleeping with men if he were still presenting as male.

The trans denial of reality actually helps them in this case. Their insistence that gender identity = biological sex makes it easier for homophobic parents to rationalize thinking they really had an opposite sex child all along. Also for the religious types, the Bible is less explicit condemning transgenderism than homosexuality. It says "no effeminate men" and forbids people wearing opposite sex clothing, but that's moot if you truly believe they're really the opposite sex rather than crossdressers.

I know that I am committing the critical Theory high crime of "Epistemic Exploitation" by asking you this, but do you happen to know any written works/scholarly articles on this particular topic with regards to the Seneca and Tuscarora reservations that you could share with us?

As obvious as it is to experienced troonspotters, to normal people a tranny who puts in basic effort will pass, at least at a glance. Your boss sees your framed photo of your "daughter" and her boyfriend he might think, "what an ugly woman" but he won't think, "gay man in a dress". He sees a framed photo of your effeminate son and his boyfriend then it's different.

And not all of them do make this decision. There are probably millions of religious families out there with effeminate gay sons (or butch lesbian daughters) and in this thread we really only hear about the ones that decide to troon out We do occasionally hear about the ones for whom trooning was the last straw and what got their families to disown them too, but they make more sense and aren't as interesting (and are more depressing) to talk about so even when they do show up they don't get the same attention.

But there’s no checking that someone’s actually Aboriginal? It’s all on the honor system? In the US, you have to be an enrolled member of a tribe to qualify for Indian Health Services, as far as I know, and each tribe gets to determine who’s a member. So there’s no reason for poor people to pull the Generokee grift, only middle class people trying to get diversity hires. This just happened in Canada, some ‘Native’ professor named Amie Williamson who went by Amie Wolf doxxed her Chinese students for being racist and then she’s actually white.

Now there is a potential benefit in the US to race faking to get college scholarships and, like I said, diversity hiring, and several white women got caught doing that recently, but the bigger issue is race exaggerating. So your grandma was a white Cuban, now you can claim you’re an oppressed Latinx woman. The number of Americans who are white by any reasonable definition but are part Latino/Native/Black/Asian/Jewish/Romani/Middle Eastern is quite high (Amerimutt, etc.)
