r/Transgender_Surgeries - Almost 7 weeks post op with Richmond & Oakland Kaiser since I needed a revision 6 hours after surgery for a hematoma. Had 4 hematomas total, none currently.

Oh god, you can see the scar on the first guy's hairline from where they stitched his face back on. Oh god.

Second pic... that just looks like a raw hot dog. She's got a raw hot dog stuck to her crotch. Also, I will never get over the pale lifelessness of the fake penises. I wonder what the rates are of those things having to be removed because the lack of circulation causes.. you know, medical issues? Holy shit.

And the third one... what does she have rubbed all over her chest? It looks like coffee grounds.

I think a lot of it is social expectation and not wanting to lose community. "Straight transmen" are treated like absolute dogshit in the community. Most at least pretend to be "pansexual" or something in order to avoid being hit with the stigma of being considered "straight". There's also a huge assumption in ftm circles that all ftms are attracted to men, so there's a ton of social pressure there. It's part of why a lot of trans-identified women date each other - they can still be in a homosexual relationship like they want, but they don't have to pretend to be straight.

Also, there's significant evidence that exogenous testosterone just fucks with women's sex drive and sexuality. I've read some testimonials from detransitioned women who said they weren't and aren't attracted to men at all, but when they were on testosterone they were. Probably something to do with making their sex drive go to eleven, that it becomes hard to be discriminating or something, I don't know. I wish someone would do a study on this stuff, but they never will because it might make transition sound like a bad idea.

Hunh, I always thought the assumption was that most FTMs are ‘straight’ (into women). But I haven’t really engaged in anything to do with the community since like 2012, and it’s changed a lot since then.

It used to be that way, and it still is in young children being transed by their parents, but since the rise in ROGD (rapid onset gender dysphoria) and social contagion, the majority of ftms I believe are now at least bisexual but probably heterosexual (into men). It's considered cool and sexy to be trans, and, at least among younger people, it's honestly stigmatized now to be a "straight cis girl" (not as much as it is to be a "cis" lesbian but still) especially if you don't perform femininity literally to the highest level possible - IOW it's okay to be a "straight cis girl" if you're an Insta model who takes four hours every day to apply sixteen separate levels of makeup, but not if you're the kind of girl who wears t-shirts and jeans and doesn't wear makeup. Not to mention that if you're heterosexual and "cis", you're expected to performatively flay yourself in service to your trans betters literally 24/7.

I did a little more digging on her reddit profile to figure out why such a cute and pretty young woman would mutilate her body like that, and a picture has begun to emerge. There's this:

"Me, mom and dad were eating supper last night and dad said that the bread was dry. Mom took offense because she bought it. I tried to calm her down by saying that it wasn't worth arguing over. She escalated the verbal abuse by grabbing his chin and back of neck and screaming at him. I felt scared and thought about calling the police. I didn't. I started recording audio and mom threatened to kill dad if he started smiling at her (not taking her seriously)."

I agree with you broadly, but I think you're assuming that it's all misogyny. There's also misandry in there, plenty of TiMs figure, "I am gentle and kind" (even when they really aren't) and assume that all men are hateful, horny creatures and therefore they can't be men. Frankly my first exposure to TRA stuff wasn't their constant attempts to invade women's spaces (admittedly, probably because I'm a man), it was stuff by troons like Samantha Allen about how awful and evil straight men are. They hang out in social justice circles that are bad for their mental health and then they find out that they can reverse three opprsive identities with five little words: I identify as a woman. Suddenly they aren't straight cis men, they're lesbian trans women and completely absolved of their culpability in the crimes of straight cis men.

This may be the required post-surgery binder. But I do get the impression a lot of FTMs would have been happier, long run, with a breast reduction instead.

She’s genderfluid and ‘sometimes’ identified as a woman. She got a reduction from an H cup but the surgeon didn’t make her chest as small as she wanted.

When I was in high school, there was a social justice club. It was run by a friend group of mostly Asian girls (a lot of whom were gay) and some gay/bi white guys and...the one (incredibly dorky) straight white guy. His tumblr url was privileged-person. He said he was ‘bisexual’ for a while, and now he says he’s a ‘trans woman’. If I know any troons who aren’t AGPs, it’s this one.
 
I think the photo with the long hair (and her looking healthier and happier) is the older photo and the one with short hair where she looks sickly is the newer one, isn’t it? She just didn’t post them in the order you’d expect?

Ther is literally a scene in a movie called “The Birdcage” where Nathan Lane’s character (who is a drag Queen and maybe trans/maybe just effeminately gay) is learning to be masculine via eating toast.
it’s a hilarious movie and I highly suggest it, at least go watch the toast scene!
