People put a lot on this election, this reaction was bound to happen to the losing side. I don't believe for a second that the Democrats played fair but without a smoking gun and this close to the Electoral College convening what can Trump do?
My only wish from a Biden presidency is that the old coot stays alive. We do not need a president Harris.
The good news is that the Republicans will now have to sink or swim. Modern conservativism has utterly failed, what has it conserved? The mention of God in the Pledge of Allegiance? Great, at least all of those teen moms and young thugs in homeroom will hear the Good News about our Lord and Savior. It doesn't matter that most of these students come from broken homes and eke out an existence just above abject poverty, they get to hear about God at school!
If I were a part of Republican leadership I would change tact and jettison the corporate and fundamentalist aspects of the party. The Republicans found success when they courted small business owners, disillusioned union workers, and blue collar America. People who got left behind in Obama's America.
The corporations have already thrown their lot in with the Democrats so stop bothering with them. Fundamentalists can be fine people but their busybody nature wasted so much political capital in the early 2000s. Their morality policing put us on the road to the hellscape we live in today.
I have my doubts that the Republicans will be anything but a bunch of craven opportunists though. Not a single vertebra among them.
