And all it took was destroying people's confidence in democracy, a fake pandemic thats ruined millions of livelihoods and God knows what else. When I say it isn't over, I'm not talking about elections or legal processes, I'm talking about a shit tsunami that'll obliterate both your canoe and your paddle.

Tl;dr there's no happy ending, for anyone.

America is China's bitch due to China holding their economic collapse aka their balls in a vicegrip. I always described America as a bubble. Every aspect of it is. However its not sustainable anymore. The can will no longer be kicked down the road because there is no road left. When someone controls your money your laws dont matter. Comfort breeds weakness, and the strongest of shields cannot defend the weakest of wills. Through hardship new strong men will come forth. These strong men will build something new and that will improve untill a golden age. Then as people grow comfortable they will grow weak and decadent again. What was built will decay bringing hardship again. Thats how it always goes.

The GOP will lose both. No one is going to show up. And why would they?

What's the point of giving the GOP the win if they won't even protect it? To hold the Senate? What's the point of having the Senate if the judges they confirm won't stop Democrat overreach?

I'll say it once I'll say it again. Mere larpers, the actual people planning to take action already are. They aren't going to talk about it and they certainly aren't going to reveal where they are. At best they'll keep government agencies distracted while those who are serious go out and set up shop. That's if there are many who really are as steeled and dedicated to their cause like the left. That I'm not sure of.

I still think the best course of action is for the GOP to actually commit to litigating this over the following year. It will be a lot harder to dismiss if they actually produce boxes of admissible evidence before filing a complaint and actually building a solid case. I've always felt that the legal challenges had a low probability of success just because there wasn't enough time to actually file an ironclad complaint, but if the GOP is serious about preventing this type of bullshit from happening again, they should actually commit serious resources to litigating this well after the media furore dies down.

It's actually a lot easier than you think to FOIA, but it does cost some money. I'm really not sure who you could send the request to for that GA area, and I imagine you'd have to be a citizen, but you could contact a local official for the information as regards getting, say, the full stream of the state farm arena footage out there.

Honestly, I don't see a way out of this schism. The Trump and Non-trump wings of the GOP will scrap at each other, and their only hope to push back against the opposite end is going to be for the democratic coalition to also start going at each other.

I really wish we had a parliamentary system - we could all get what we wanted, sortof.

SCOTUS just set that up. Trump can now use the military or the militia to enforce election integrity in the 4 states that have declared they have the right to violate the rights of the people.

Or, as the article states, Trump can cross the Rubicon via this statement:

“I, President Trump, have determined that a conspiracy has deprived 70 million Americans of their right to vote and that the other authorities are refusing to protect this right. I therefore order the suppression of this conspiracy by any means necessary.”

So there's the military or the militia. Military's easy -- that's the military as well as the national guard. Militia, though? That's just the national guard, right?

Nope. It's every man in the country 17 to 45 years of age.

That means it's any glowys on Trump's side.

It means it's any staffers at the DNC who want to break in and leak emails.

It means it every single person in those states who might want to do anything to stop this.

Trump has the option at this point of effectively declaring the election bullshit and storming in to secure his second term via force. He can cast the die and cross the Rubicon.

These people really don’t know how stuff like that works. You don’t announce you’re going to do it where the FBI and other alphabet agencies can track you. You make the plans in secret and in person and go rogue. These people are going to get v& and they’ll deserve it.

That right there is the point. The world's lone superpower hasn't become like China, they don't lie about who takes power. It's not like Cuba, they only give you one choice. It's become like Venezuela, they manufacture impossible votes and expect you to swallow that. Now what happens in Venezuela I wonder....
