I've lurked for a long while, but only joined recently and it's been an honor shitposting with you guys. May you all find luck, happiness and success in your future endeavors!

IMO there are far too many ultra monied corporate tech entities with lobbyists who are on rimjob terms with both democrats and republicans who would stand to get seriously screwed over by section 230 being killed off like this for this to have any chance of happening, regardless of what flumpf or biden say.

They will use every overt, covert, and ho'vert method they have to bury this shit, and with trump's pigheaded stubbornness being replaced by uncle biden's literally fucking senile pushoverness and a presidential team deeply intimate with the tech sphere, i see no reason why they wont treat the "end section 230" pledge like they have every other campaign pledge in democrat presidential history.

I could be wrong obviously, but it seems to me that this is something that will be buried and forgotten within a month of inauguration

Only joined a short while ago after a few years of lurking, but I'm glad I spent time having fun online with others who enjoyed poking fun at people who where Mad at the Internet. Whatever you decide to do Null, I hope life at least gets a little bit easier if/when your adorable retarded child called KF gets the axe

It's been a joy lurking and posting on your website, Josh. There truly is nothing else quite like it online. I'll see you in Valhalla, you've more than earned your place there.

All the more reason to abolish 230.

Sure the Farms will go. But so will much of Big Tech and their grip on the minds of the world.

Well if you do close up shop, it's been a hell of a ride. Thanks for the good times, even if I was late to the party. Really hoping theres some sort of 11th hour save. Gutting Section 230 would shoot any US tech company in the foot.

All we can do is hope this doesn't get passed.
It was a good run, this is pretty much the only site I can stand being on.
The only hope should 230 be killed is some insanely complex decentralized site.

Better that we die with dignity then live long enough to become the trashfire that is SomethingAwful. If this is truly how it ends, then I will miss all of you.

except as you probably know, it's people who are in their 50s and 60s who started the internet.

and idk about Trump actually being serious about something that would harm is most diehard fans and the other one doing something similar to his own.

And again if the website is no longer run by a Florida company but by say a Swiss one whose responsible person on paper is a Russian who lives in Iraq then why can the assets of an American be siezed????
A small group of highly-technical people in that demographic cohort started the internet, retard. The overwhelming majority of boomers not only don't understand technology, but reflexively hate it.

Because having a 3rd world crook as the legal host of your website worked out so well for Hiro and Fredrick.

I don't think Trump even realizes that he is throwing the baby out with the bath water, but let's be real the bath water really needs be be thrown out.
