Parents of picky eaters, this hack's for you.

TikTok user Darin Nicole posted the most straightforward tip for getting her kids to eat what's on their plate: "No options in our home."

Can the kids have cupcakes? Cookies? Sure they can -- the parents sure do, but only after their "plates are empty."

Here's how it works. Dinner is served. The kids may eat it or not. But the plate stays on the counter until they go to sleep. "That's how it works in our house," Darin Nicole said in the viral video.

"Whenever we get an 'I'm hungry,' they [need to] eat their food that they didn't finish at the table," the parents said in the video.

So that means dinner might become a late-night snack. And that's just fine by this mom

Isn't these "hacks" just basic parenting? Have we got so lazy that our only way to get these tips are from TikTok and other social media "platforms"?

This is about as much of a hack as shitting in the toilet it is compared to shitting on the floor.

You'd think that the fact that you need to eat to live is enough.

wow what a completely brand new and novel concept that hasn't been used for centuries. What's your next groundbreaking concept, insisting poor kids would be happy to have that food?

I can't believe that children being told to eat their food is such an old-ti.e thing to modern parents.

What's the next hack? Spanking your kids help correct their behaviour?

I have to question the upbringing this writer has. They were either so destitute, they cherished every meal they had and ate everything because it was all they could afford; or was so affluent, their parents weren't ever around and they got to do whatever the fuck they wanted, with maybe some guidance from the nanny.

This is basic fucking parenting for any normal functioning family. It's akin to those "when you want McDonalds, but mom says we have burgers at home" or whatever memes.

You hungry? Good, you're gonna eat what mom makes for you; you don't like it, either cook for yourself or buy your own food.
You want sweets, finish everything on your plate and you can have dessert.

It's not some sort of life hack, it's called being a parent. What the fuck.

When I was a kid I didn't want to eat the cabbage on my plate but my mom said I couldn't leave the table until it was gone and I missed rugrats in paris on the tv and cried.

Lifehack: if your child is spending too much time on the smartphone you bought them at age 3 as a parental replacement, and screams when you take it away, try whipping them with a belt until they're quiet. -Yahoo News
