They both play for me. Something has been wonky with uploaded videos since the forum upgrade though. Sometimes I can get things to play with no problem and other times it just never loads or plays the first few seconds and buffers endlessly.

Then we all have to kill a guy for stepping on our sneakers because that is "disrespect" and if we don't do it we will be seen as weak and preyed upon.

The breakdown of law and order and enforcement with a creation of a new set of rules that they get to have control over is the goal. It won't happen the way they think but that is what they purportedly want.

I don't entirely disagree, I guess I'm just not exactly sure how that potential outcome would be any riskier or more expensive than a big lawsuit over constitutionality of the law in this case.

Also I seem to recall the cops do not have do not owe a duty of care for situations they do not create, so they'd have a decent leg to stand on if the situation is "cop drives by, doesn't see anything, keeps driving".

lmao back in the day in NYC, when libertarians would organize orderly marches against the fed for a crowd of maybe 200, there'd be maybe six cops assigned to stop traffic the duration of it, some of them were pretty irate about it and made it clear they felt their time was being wasted. In my heart of hearts, I hope some of them are still kicking to have been assigned to this so they can feel the nostalgia I am right now. Going to a protest of any stripe at one point in time never beared the risk of being shanked, shot, or having your shit stolen. Even when occupy got taken over by jobless commies, you could still argue with them indefinitely without concern of being sucker punched for doing so.

The crying fat girls face in the back of the paddy wagon really warmed my heart.

Honestly, the more I think about this one... the more the officer is the one at fault.

Standard procedure for a stopped car is to give it a wide birth, staying to its side, until you can come in towards the driver's side door at around a 45 degree angle. So, in order for him to be in fear of his life, two things need to be true.

1: He failed to follow this basic procedure which is standard across the country.
2: He was sufficiently close that he couldn't step aside...

And the problem should now be obvious if you think about it. Somehow, he was far enough away to draw his weapon, fire it, kill the suspect, and for the cars momentum to come to a halt... but somehow not be able to step aside.

That smells like bullshit.

Is it possible the officer had exited his vehicle and had his weapon drawn immediately because they had fled the initial stop attempt? My only experience with these situations is via LivePD, but those cops often drew if someone fled a stop. I could maybe see if he was approaching and his partner was standing behind the police car door with both of their guns drawn, the joggers reverse and the door could take the partner down if they hit the car. We will have to wait for body and dash cam footage to get an answer, it seems.

I can come up with a few fringe explenations, but even in my best ones for the cops it comes out to a case of "Everyone involved fucked up". Body cam footage would be good.

It is getting tiresome. They aren't accomplishing anything. The revolution hasn't kicked off. They are kettled within certain cities. It is the same people getting arrested doing the same thing they did a week ago.

This is a special kind of hell right? You repeat the same thing over and over again for no purpose. There is no reasoning with these people. They are NPC's on a script except there is a bug and now they are stuck in a loop.

Hopefully the election puts the final nail in the coffin on these riots. Right now these people have the hope that by rioting they can somehow remove Trump from power. That they can push people into voting Biden in. Once that hope is gone, people will stop rioting unless they are truly deranged.

Before I get a pile of "optimistic" ratings, I understand there will be a flare up of violence and rioting. But I doubt that the riots can be sustained through the winter. Also as COVID lockdowns get lifted people will start going back to whatever preoccupied them previously.

It's going to be funny in a twisted way when the rioters try to buy necessary stuff, only to find their local stores have closed and moved because the riots encouraged them to do so.
