Sadly I don't think they harvest organs from ODs, so he wouldn't be any use to anyone even then. He could be some use if he sorted his life out, knocked the addiction on the head and started interacting with his kids in a way that isn't just harassing the poor things online, but I don't have much hope of that. Mobile gaming for sure. A pie at least has some nutritional value even if you grossly overpay for it. An 80 dollar pie is likely to be at least quite a good pie.

But paying money for phone pixels results in you getting literally nothing. The person you bought the pie from loses the pie and its ingredients . Selling you Internet pixels costs the seller literally nothing and the supply is infinite, any scarcity is entirely artificial. Their material and labour unit costs are literally zero. And software licensing means you don't even legally own the pixels you "bought". You are buying literally nothing. At least if you set fire to your money you might keep warm. It's like the Platonic Ideal of conspicuous consumption.
