Surely the Republicans won't act like opportunistic hypocrites and try to push a nomination through despite this being an election year. I know I have faith in my political representatives in Congress!
 
This makes me think that Trump was given a warning ahead of time. The timing of his release of those SCOTUS picks earlier in the month makes it seem like he was aware that things were on the downturn well before this hit the mainstream.
 
Oh dear. I really hope the senate doesn't try to ramrod thru a replacement given the timeframe.

May you rest in peace, RBG. I may not have liked some of your politics all that much, but you always stood by them. The timing on this couldn't be much worse.

Anyway, expect whoever Trump chooses to be subject to an ever-increasing cavalcade of vague allegations. Get ready for another Kavanaugh Clusterfuck.
