Ralphamale will "win" this one in the end IMO. The Vickers will ultimately fold and foot the bill for EVERYTHING before the taxpayers can. Not to mention the pregnancy arc grift from his paypigs.
Even if that were the case (which I doubt, not wanting to be blamed for a miscarriage is not the same as helping them financially), this is a situation Ralph can't win no matter what he does:
-Faith is too young and mentally unstable, the burden of motherhood will break her (if the pregnancy doesn't do it first)
-Ralph is not a man, he would never be able to get clean, stop drinking, start planning for the future, create a stable environment for the baby, etc.
-They live in a tiny crackhouse with three people in it.
-Ralph spends all his nights online and days hungover.
-A baby won't know when the appropriate time to cry/sleep/be hungry is, he can't scream "I'M ON THE WAY" and go back to sleep for another hour
-Even normal, stable people can be broken by a baby. Babies can scream for hours on end, they can also wake up every other hour. You think either of them can handle that?
-Aside from Faith being whatever she is, she is also almost 19 and has never had the freedom to go party and do shit like other people her age would be doing now. That itch will eventually come, and it will be worse if she has a baby attached to her hip
-I mentioned it earlier, but how can Ralph do his show in that tiny shack with a baby? Will he whisper so he doesn't wake the baby up? Or will it just scream throughout the entire show?
-There's a very real chance that Faith would get postpartum depression which would be a whole new level of fucked
This is all thinking that this will be a normal healthy baby, with their genetics the chances decrease. People don't announce they're having a baby when they found out for many reasons, one of them is figuring out how big the chances is that the kid is going to be into trains or have any other major deformity
There's also the obvious money angle, Ralph's savings won't make it through the pregnancy, Faith will start demanding more, etc.
Lastly there's the possibility of jail, not just Vickers but Ralph is his own worst enemy and when the pressure increases, he always cracks, he's pretty confident gloating about doing drugs on stream and other stupid shit, he's always one mistake away from going back in.
As always, Ralph only sees the immediate 'win' in front of him and damned be the consequences. If she really is pregnant, if she makes it to term, if the baby is healthy, and IF he manages to keep her around that long while keeping her completely cut off from the world, even then, Ralph is fucked either way.
