Remember the Pokemon Reboot dudes? They've finished the Kanto dex, and moved on to Johto, and they're just as bad as you'd imagine.

What I hate about redesign projects like this is that they refuse, absolutely refuse to elevate their ideas above specific-animal-with-glued-on-parts. Like, what is "multiple inspirations" , what is "making things up" ? Evee is a cat, Alakazam is a goat, and anything that ever flied is a bat or a bird!

A ground type dog Pokémon. The idea is cool but how the fuck would I redesign this since it’s supposed to be excitable and yet easy to train

Ok so I actually did draw the water starter here. And yes I did predict 2/3 gen 8 starters. The final evolutions were supposed to be grass/psychic, fire and water/ground. Might revisit them some day if I get an idea how to revamp them (I have an idea on Foeaf the grass starter)
 
There are a lot of missing nexomons, especially the final numbers. I guess they're either secret or legendaries. The game is apparently getting updates so they might be added later or be dlc.

I'm 99% sure that belossom redesign is inspired on a classic portuguese/brazilian star Carmen Miranda. The "fruit turban" makes it pretty obvious.

Any brazilian person would be able to tell you is a very iconic look. She was also popular in the US at the time.

The design itself could be better but... it's a pretty clever re-design, going from hula hula dancer to samba dancer. I kinda like it more than default bellossom. At least one person on their art team is a man of culture.

The rest on the other hand is pretty bad lol. Why does furret have a NEON GREEN "scarf" appendage and Marill looks like a normal rat wearing a costume? They took some of the cutest pokemon and made them ugly as hell.

NGL I kind of like this one; especially the third stage where the top leaf resembles a banner, and the side bamboo resembles armor.

That being said, they could have skipped the second stage and gone from quadrupedal + random growth --> bipedal + growth resembling armor & flags

Pokemon Kiwi Fuzz version. I have some time to kill tomorrow, I can make something of it if people are interested (art wise). Thinking starters made of a kiwi, a cow and maybe some kind of dog (Null).

You can have a go at the legendary/legendaries for the game if want? As I don't have a clue, and they could be based off of the most famous cows/internet people on the site or something. Same with other pokemon, anyone can contribute, since would need like, at least 100-151 for a KiwiDex. Could be fun to see what people can come up with based on various aspects of the forums.

I mean BlueCat and Sonichu seem easy to translate into pokemon

Void the dog (Wikihow dog in Null's avatar) should be a box legendary.

Yep. Might make a thread later on if I can get some stuff together. (Also helps that they made a Chris Chan theme already so he could potentially be the champion)

I think there's something post-game but I'm kind of disappointed they didn't seem to keep any of the Nexomon from the first game. It seems like they have some good ideas and some filler. I lost interest in the first game pretty quickly, but Extinction is good with lots of room for improvement.
