I've been told the same when I've asked people about this. It boiled down to "The US ruined all the countries people are moving from and now the US must hold itself responsible for its wrongdoings."
Seeing it summed up like this just shows it's the same old song and dance for everything else they believe in.

All communism hasn't been "true communism" according to them.
From the USSR to CHAZ it isn't "true communism" although the result is always the same. A totalitarian government that either starts to "embrace" a "capitalistic like" market (even if the commies control it all), falls in fiery revolution, or just outright fails.

The fact people bring their pets and babies to these these sorts of things never stops giving me a strange sense of dread that their reasoning for doing so is to just give them another sort of meat shield or something that if something happens to them the people that brought the kids and pets there can have more bullshit reasons to keep this thing thats been going on for 3 fucking months still chugging.
