This is a moment I've been waiting for since almost 10 years ago, it's been that corrupt for a long time before that. I'm frankly shocked the DA investigated much less did anything about it.
Of course the end result of this will likely be them dumpstering all CCW applications equally unless the courts smacks them down. This is what a lot of counties already do if they're in the metro areas, Santa Clara was just the most egregious with regards to the favoritism.

The same thing that happened to their boomer forebears, I imagine. While these days boomers are politically associated with 'fuck you got mine' conservatism their loudest voices in the 60s consisted of SDS and other assorted left-wing faggotry. And like the 60s radicals, most of the woke millennials will awkwardly try to reintegrate into evil white supremacist society while a small radicalized minority will turn to Weatherman-style domestic terrorism over the next few years.

True, but part of why so many of the Boomers were able to go from hippie to yuppie and become the backbone of the Religious Right and the Neoliberals was because of the favorable and kinda unique economic conditions of the 1980's and 1990's.
The fundies were definitely the result of the former radicals trying to repent for the "degeneracy" of the 60's and 70's, but the yuppies, neocons, and neolibs were able to emerge entirely due to a post-WWII and post-Cold War economic boom that no longer exists and was already more or less completely dead by the time the Early and Core Millennials were finishing college and the Late Millennials and Early Zoomers were largely still in high school.
I could see there being far-left holdouts and SJW burnouts but I also expect a lot of the hardcore true believer zealots being more or less disenfranchised economically and socially after all this is said and done.
There will likely be a massive spike in suicides, deaths from severe drug addiction, homelessness and other major issues among the Late Millennials and Early Zoomers in the 2020's and 2030's.
I could see some of them trying to make amends and going full-on rightist, especially if Woke Leftism collapses after 2020 and the Core/Late Zoomers and Alpha Generation truly trend right-wing post-2020. Even then, I'm not sure how successful such a switch will be.
The Religious Right was only powerful because of the neocons backing them through the 1980's and 1990's, even into the 2000's. The neocons and neolibs emerged from the prosperity of the Reagan era and especially the Clinton era, and I doubt the Woke Left will have that chance save for the oldest among them.
The Woke Left's venom is partly due to leftist indoctrination in academia and partly because so many of them are still royally pissed at their Religious Right parents for ruining their fun when they were kids. Given how SJW's were able to exert far more influence on media and culture than the fundies before them, I expect the "Based Right" or whatever it will be called to be even more harsh on their Millennial leftist parents for banning fun.
You think "OK Boomer" and the "Fuck You, Dad!" levels of Anti-Christianity is bad right now?
Wait until you see the next generation go "Fuck You, Mom!" in their cultural shift.
If given the opportunity, they will disrespect and mistreat the Millennials worse than we did the Boomers. Unlike the Boomers, most of us won't have the built-up wealth and equity. Especially those of us who went woke.
