I think it's just because Ralph is slower, period. He seems to have a somewhat similar arc as Sargon, but it'll take 7 years instead of 4. Like he's now in the bunkering, censoring phase. This will lead to getting more and more isolated, more out of touch. His calling Matt looking for an easy win was similar to Sargon going on Kevin and kirsti show to make a fool of himself. Now he's gone into the public appearances and "I have nothing to hide" phase. Of course he's wrong. Everybody has things to hide.

I don't think he'll run for office, but he'll look to do something bigger. This cow is growing milkier and soon we will feast.
