That's depressing. WWI is at the root of current day conflict in the Middle East. Here's a documentary that explains the basics:To this day I don't know what WWI was about. Franz Ferdinand died, there were trenches, Germany had pointy helmets, ???, the end. And I'm pretty sure I learned all three of those points outside of school. I honestly might have never even had a WWI class. I wasn't a good student, but I definitely remembering learning about Korea and Vietnam and whatever, but never WWI.
And like everyone else says, my public school telling of WW2 was 90% holocaust, 10% nukes. I'm old enough that the narrative was War Bad rather than Whitey Bad, but the curriculum is the exact same.
Then there's people like Guy Galbadon who, having lived with a Japanese family as a childThat's a bit of an overstatement. Japan isn't racist, they're nationalist. "Racism" is irrational hatred, is it not?

Not many, because the japanese aren't the kind of shitty people to use it for personal gain for the rest of time.
As for the rest, we raped them at least as much as they raped others, and then we dropped nukes on them.
Sad that few people remember the amazing things ordinary people did.was a United States Marine who, at age 18, captured or persuaded to surrender over 1,300 Japanese soldiers and civilians during the battles for Saipan and Tinian islands in 1944 during World War II.
