A bit off topic, but I just had my first encounter with a real leftist. Since I ain't American, I've just been watching from afar like in a safari. But earlier today I talked to some random dude on a random chatting app about politics and I was surprised at how reviled the ideas I shared from this thread.
When we eventually got to the riots, he went with the usual Trump sending in his gestapo talking point and when I asked him if he even knew that a fucking bomb was thrown at the Feds last night. After that he just called me misinformed and ended the conversation then and there. Throughout the conversation I wasn't even like angry or anything, I genuinely wanted to learn his side and understand his perspective but he just shut me down.
It was such a weird feeling, like we're looking at the same picture and seeing two completely opposing things. If this is how its like to discuss politics in America right now then that's scary, cause he wasn't even willing to bring me to his side, he just shut me down cause in his mind, I was wrong and my perspective didn't matter. How can you even have a country when everyone's mindset, both on the Right and the Left, is either you're with us or against us?

I'm going to get a lot of "Optimistic" stickers for saying this, but I do think if Trump does somehow win a second term in 2020, the MSM are going to shift gears on the narrative and blame Antifa and BLM.
I think they'd also be able to pull it off effectively if this somehow actually happens.
It sounds crazy, but hear me out. We know for a fact a lot of the Bernie Bro crowds are part of the wider Antifa movement, and considering the DNC hates Bernie Sanders and blamed him for why Hillary Clinton lost, I can definitely see the MSM try and sell this potential narrative by tying it into the preexisting narrative against Bernie. If the MSM can blame Antifa for Orange Man Bad getting a second term, I think a lot of "NPC" normies will buy it, since it's not coming from a "fake news" source like Fox or Breitbart.
I could even see some of the Project Veritas clips about the Bernie campaign getting aired and edited by CNN if this situation were to happen. They will blame everyone but themselves if they do somehow lose, and that's when you'll see the narratives completely shift.

There is a schism in the American Left as there was the old school free speech liberal types and then there is the woke progressive cuckold. And the old school liberal types gave birth to them.

The left currently works in a cult like fashion, they do not accept dissenting thoughts and ideas, and if they come across some one who does they are encouraged to shut them out of their life even if close family, they also teach people to chant things which blocks out one's ability to critically think about what they are hearing.
This cult like behavior is also why the left keeps on eating its self, over just one "misdeed"
Going off of 2016 I doubt they will blame BLM and Antifa, 2016 they lost because of Identity politics, and instead of reflecting on "how did we lose" they doubled down on it.

True, but I honestly think they're doubling down because they think 2016 was a fluke. I honestly think that Bernie's unexpected performance in the 2016 primary along with Hillary winning the popular vote is convincing them that they needed to go further into Woke Leftism.
If Trump can pull off a win in 2020, they'll know it's not a fluke and will shift gears somewhat to regain their losses and maintain their power. Especially if he wins despite all this insanity.

The thing is the DNC has shown time and time again, they are not thinking even before the 2016 election, they chose Clinton who fellow Dems let alone the moderates, and the GOP have extremly negative views of, stemming from her husband's time in office. Both Clintons have done and accused of things Trump has been accused of by them, also so the media cycle in 2016 was more of "Pot calling the kettle black" then anything else.
They chose her and gave favorable treatment (to the point that it was violating the DNC's own policies/bylaws), even though no one was enthused about her, durning the 2016 election I had a job where I interacted with people in my community a lot, and all I saw were Sanders and Trump shirts, stickers, buttons, etc. Not one for Clinton, not even from the people Clinton would have appealed to, those people even were supporting Sanders.
Now we have a repeat of 2016, All I see when I drive around my area are Trump signs (and my area is purpleish blue) no support for Biden at all.
Sure my area is not the entire country but it was reflecting the 2016 results well back then.

Expect a lot of useful idiots to get purged via firing and blacklisting if this scenario happens. That may not totally kill the IdPol cancer, but it would definitely cripple it or at least severely slow it down.

I disagree. From what I know of liberals and progressives, they never police their own, for a few reasons:
1. The ends justify the means
2. They cannot admit wrongdoing
3. They fear backlash for not toeing the party line

I definately agree with you that some sort of purge is probably coming down the pipelines, watching some of the BLM leaders get deplatformed for switching their hatred to Jews is probably a preview of what that will look like, I am just not convinced they are competent enough to pull it off at this point after enabling them for so many years.

No, but I do think they would soften their anti-White rhetoric and pin the blame on a few new scapegoats. Sort of a "losing the battle, but prepping for winning the war" thing
The COVID-19 pandemic is throwing everyone a curveball economically and if China's floods keep getting worse or Trump wins and continues the trade war, then our corporate masters will have to rely more on the American market and adjust accordingly.
Bread and circuses don't work if there's food shortages and the circuses are all woke, preachy, and pretentiously boring. If the powers that be can't rely on Chinese money as effectively, then they will adjust to maintain their power and build more power later.

They arrived on Thursday, they left on Tuesday. Meaning they were prepping for J25 and the SPD being hamstrung, expecting some trouble over the weekend. But the judge overturned the restrictions, the SPD broke out the old school riot batons and smacked them down hard, and feds didn't have any trouble. So they left.
Pay attention to the wording in the article--the feds didn't coordinate or consult Durkin, Inslee, etc. Feds didn't ask for permission, didn't respond to their pissy complaints over the weekend, didn't even notify them of withdrawal. The mayor sent a letter asking for clarification after the fact because she had no clue what was going on.
This is the most damning line in that article:
Notice anyone missing from that official news release? DHS, CBP, or any other feds. Usually these joint releases are between the locals and the feds, that's what makes it joint. But the article specifically notes it's local leaders talking up the withdrawal. The feds didn't hang around to do the usual diplomatic speak about "productive coordination with the local authorities". They didn't even bother to send a quote blurb.
Here's the actual press release (archive). Take a read through it, other than the confirmation it's all one-way complaints that went unanswered. Best line:

That was me, a few pages back. Looks like the feds surged to Seattle in anticipation of the J25 "Day of Solidarity with Portland", but the SPD handled business so they left without needing to come out and play. The local government was so completely ignored, the feds didn't even bother to notify them when they left. Their "joint" press release is a pristine, textbook example of Extreme Cope; you can mine so much salt just by reading between the lines.
Now contrast with Portland:
Key info in there: Chad Wolf went over Mayor Wheeler's head to talk with the governor, who has agreed to a joint action.
"That plan includes a robust presence of Oregon State Police in downtown Portland."
Chad Wolf just pulled some big dick energy over Ted "Teargas Photo Op" Wheeler.
And it's not all talk--look at the local reporter's timeline from last night (archive), specifically this video, where cops finally show up outside the Portland federal courthouse.
You can see at 0:14 that the cops in the street are not the feds, who are still behind the fence at the courthouse wearing different gear. I don't know if they're the aforementioned state police, I assume so. Either way those cops pushed back rioters several blocks instead of the feds' usual 1-2 block radius.
It looks like the adults are finally sick of the tantrums.
