I wonder when the inflection point comes and the country collectively realises police are necessary to stop anarchy.
I wonder when Biden will vocally condemn the madness, since he's already refrained from any abolition.

You can thank Detroit's first White DINO mayor in something like 40 years for that. The second shit started popping off around he put a curfew in place. Didn't need to bring in the NG. It also helps that he seems to be the most well liked Mayor in Detroit's history and has been working hard to pull it out of the gutter. They protest, but they are not smashing shit up and setting things on fire.

private security are limited in numbers.
usually you have like half a dozen dudes guarding the doors to your building, and that's it. it's good enough to scare away some people, and to physically keep lone troublemakers out, but when a mob of hundreds of nogs comes your way, six mean looking dudes in sunglasses aren't going to help very much. at that point you need actual riot control, which regular private security aren't trained or equipped to do.

It may well be stronger than the actual racists' hate for other races. Jim Crow was abominable, but at least it allowed the development of parallel institutions. Cancel culture is totalitarian in its ambitions.
