Rayshard Brooks, 27, who had fallen asleep in his vehicle, failed a sobriety test, officials said. He was shot after a struggle over a Taser he grabbed from an officer, the authorities said.

An Atlanta man died after being shot by the police who found him asleep at a Wendy’s drive-through on Friday night, the authorities said.
The man, who was identified as Rayshard Brooks, 27, of Atlanta, had fallen asleep in his vehicle, causing other customers to drive around him, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.
Mr. Brooks struggled with the police officers after he failed a sobriety test, the authorities said. As he was being arrested, he resisted and witnesses reported that Mr. Brooks grabbed and was in possession of a Taser that had been deployed by the police.
He was shot during the struggle, the bureau said, though a bystander’s video shared on social media showed the struggle between Mr. Brooks and officers, and appeared to show him running away when the police opened fire.
Mr. Brooks was taken to a hospital where he died after surgery. One officer was treated for an injury during the episode and was later released.
The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said it was conducting its own investigation into the shooting, separate from the bureau’s.
“Our thoughts and our sympathies are extended to the family of Rayshard Brooks as we must not forget that this investigation is centered upon a loss of life,” the district attorney, Paul L. Howard Jr., said in a statement.
State and local officials spoke out about the shooting.
The Rev. James Woodall, the state president of the N.A.A.C.P., said on Saturday of Mr. Brooks, “there was nothing that he did that was deserving of death.”
“Our overall message is that we are done dying,” the reverend said. “We are done waking up at 1 or 2 in the morning to another murder or yet another case of police brutality.”
Former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said on Twitter that the killing of Mr. Brooks “demands we severely restrict the use of deadly force.” She added, “sleeping in a drive-thru must not end in death.”

I never asked this before but are blacks so important to the economy that everyone has to appease them? For example if you say I don’t want blacks my product anymore would the hit be very big?

I mean, chances are they'll burn down your stores or destroy your products if you fail to appease them (Think like what happened to that one clothing company whose name eludes me, after they had a promotional image of a black kid wearing a "Coolest Monkey in the Jungle" t-shirt). You'll also have the upper-middle class white woke mob hounding you on social media, and the boomers that run most corporations seem to think that social media matches the general opinion of the masses.

But they spend their money FAST. They keep a dollar in their pockets an average of one DAY, vs. an average of a month for white and asians. They have no concept of saving.
 
This situation reminds me of something that happened last year. We were driving to the movies and this old lady held up traffic by sleeping in her car. This would have been fine, except that particular traffic light only goes up when a car pulls up close enough to it. The lady must have fallen asleep before she hit the point that it was required to turn green. This, of course caused a traffic jam. At first, I thought it was due to a car accident, but no, it was someone sleeping. Unlike in this situation where someone got into road rage and killed the man, everyone drove around this person, which is not easy to do on a one-lane road.

I thought this was an old story at first, as this isn't the first time this has happened. A while back there was another scumbag drugged-out black guy who fell asleep at a drive-thru with a pistol in his lap. When the police arrived he resisted and they rightfully aerated his dumb ass. The media did the same crap then and so did the typically retarded black people floyding him up.

The incident, which took place in a Wendy’s drive-thru line, happened as protests continue to take place across the country following the death of George Floyd late last month in Minneapolis.

On Saturday evening, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said at a news conference that she did not believe Friday’s shooting “was a justified use of deadly force and have a call for the immediate termination of the officer.”

Bottoms also announced Chief Erika Shields is stepping aside and the city will launch a search for her replacement.

In the last couple weeks, prominent Atlantans have been a large part of the national dialogue about racism and police violence, including Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, whose May 29 press conference drew nationwide attention. She was then joined by Atlanta hip-hop stars T.I. and Killer Mike.

But on Saturday morning, as people began reacting to Friday’s deadly shooting, both on the ground and on social media, it was Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty who was among the first to post about Brooks’ death.

The Rev. Bernice King also posted an initial reaction on Twitter, asking “why were the police even called?” to the scene. Later in the day on Saturday, King added “Bottom line: #RayshardBrooks should be alive. His death reflects that low to no value was placed on his life.”

Former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said Brooks’ death “demands we severely restrict the use of deadly force.”

As messages were posted on social media, a crowd of protesters gathered at the Wendy’s on University Avenue.

“This is the new ground zero,” said John Wade, a leader of the demonstration at the Wendy’s on University Avenue where Brooks was killed. “Another man was taken right at this spot.”

Local and state elected officials also weighed in on social media:

Stranger Things actor Randy Havens tweeted at the city of Atlanta’s account. Meanwhile, some awaited a statement from city leadership, including former state senator and mayoral candidate Vincent Fort. Mayor Bottoms gave a press conference shortly after 5 p.m.
