The family of a missing Fort Hood, Texas, soldier named Vanessa Guillen is pleading for help after one month with no answers. The 20-year-old US Army soldier's mom, Gloria Guillen, is pleading for the public to help her find her missing daughter, who has not been seen since April, when she was working at the Fort Hood military base in Texas.

Vanessa's family is urging the public to sign petitions, speak out, and join their search parties, and they are concerned about the soldier's well-being after her mom says her daughter claimed she was being sexually harassed inside the military base by a sergeant. She also said someone from inside the base told her that her daughter had been "kidnapped." Tom Rheinlander, the spokesperson for Fort Hood, released a statement about Vanessa's disappearance and said the Army is doing its own investigation and search by sending 500 soldiers from the 3rd Cavalry Regiment to search for her on foot in and around the area.

Vanessa was last seen on April 22.
It's been more than a month since Vanessa was seen or heard from. The Stars and Stripes newspaper reported that an investigation done by Fort Hood officials and an Army Criminal Investigation Command, known as CID, revealed that the 20-year-old was last seen at 1 p.m. on April 22 in the parking lot of the Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment at the base. Vanessa's car keys, the keys to her room, her identification card, and wallet were later found in the armory room where she was working earlier that day.

Her mom shared the details of the phone call she had with her daughter.
Her mom tearfully shared the story of a phone call she said she had with her daughter prior to her disappearance in which Vanessa claimed she was being harassed by one of the sergeants at the military base. Her mom told her to report him. "Mom, others have reported him but they don't believe them," the mom claims her daughter said, and then asked her not to get involved for fear that she would be retaliated against.

The mom shared a conversation she had with a sergeant about her daughter's disappearance. "A sergeant talked to me anonymously, and I can't say his name because he said 'If you say it, they'll kill me.' He said, 'They kidnapped your daughter inside. And the corruption is horrible and there's tunnels.'" She is asking for this situation to be investigated and is looking for a lawyer to help their case.

The family and members of the community have taken matters into their own hands and have launched their own search parties. More than 60 family members and friends came together at Miller Springs Park in Temple, Texas, to search for her on May 30. "I am hoping we can cross a big area off the map. It's a huge area we need to search," Vanessa's older sister, Mayra Guillen, told 6News at the gathering. "I feel that she is still with all of us, and that hopefully someone confesses," the sister said. "Or we can somehow find her ourselves before the authorities because its been over a month we need to keep pushing."
She added, "We aren't going to stay quiet. For as long as this goes on we are going to keep it going."

She probably met the same fate as LaVena Johnson, ruled a ""suicide"" even though she was found with a broken nose, black eye, loose teeth, burns from a corrosive chemical on her genitals to cover up sexual assault, and a gunshot wound that seemed inconsistent with suicide.

There is an entire chain of command you can report this to. You think in today's environment she couldn't find someone to listen to her? If you think they're corrupt as fuck, then you call your district office and have them launch a congressional inquiry. Literally all you have to do is call them and fill out a privacy form to get one started. You're going to catch some shit as it rolls downhill, maybe enough that you'll have to get admin sepped, but at least you won't be dead. Commands can be as gay and cliquey as high school, so some dude could harass women if he had boys covering and the women being harassed didn't go far enough up the chain. An anonymous call about tunnels and shit makes me think one or more dudes that were harassing her got drunk and decided to go to her room where things got violent. They hid the body and now they're shitting themselves starting rumors to try to confuse things. Military units run on gossip. Lance Corporal Underground represent.

If the military is being corrupt as fuck you have to go outside of it. Most people in the military are stupid kids and I'm not surprised that she was ignorant of her options or too scared to act on them. It's literally what predators look for. Hope they catch the fuckheads.

edit. Love the website you got the story from.

Agree. Pretty much anyone inserting themselves into a case like this should be the top suspect. Find whoever this anonymous asshole is and you'll find who killed her. Way more likely than a secret rape tunnel society.

I figure that this sergeant finally asked her straight up for a fuck, and when she said no he pulled a gun on her (on most bases the only people who are supposed to carry guns at all times are the MP's) and dragged her off to the desert where he raped her and dumped her down a mine shaft. If he gets caught he's fucked, it's off to Leavenworth for the rest of his life, and he fucking knows it, so he's talking shit about secret tunnels and corruption and probably Satanic rituals or something similar to get the heat off him.

The problem with an all volunteer army is that you end up with people with the mentality of 15 year olds on top of not being very smart to begin with, so the women are always in the crosshairs of lecherous teen boys and of course the 24 yo sergeants who also have the mentality of lecherous 15 yo teen boys, and then there's the psycho hazing and all sorts of other crazy shit that goes on.

The Pentagon brass is utterly convinced that a draft would simply make the matter worse, so we're left with a military where good chunks of it are not only immature fucktards but even worse nobody seems to want to do a damn thing about it-this isn't the 1930s where rebellious boys got tossed into the army to whip them into shape. Political correctness has wormed its way into the military to the point where only the elite squads (Rangers, SEALs, Topguns) are truly disciplined the way they should be and used to be.

This statement really really pops out and really ups the % someone in the squadron might have involvement. If they are talking about the military CAC identification card; it is beaten.into.your.fucking.skull. that you will never leave that card off your person when not logged into a computer on base.

We're talking potential of disciple ranging from: paperwork that affects promotion, physical disciple like moving a bunch of sandbags from one place to another and then back again, or just all the shit duties no one wants to do that would normally be spread across everyone instead of one person, etc. Basically, stuff that will make you never want to forget your card again.

To the desert from Fort Hood? That's quite a drive. I guess he had a 72.

Of course, I autistically assumed that this was the desert or something because something like 2/5 of Texas is indeed desert. Well, let's just say that her brutalized corpse is out in the countryside somewhere, and hopefully they find it before it rots too much (yes, I DO know about the horrible summer humidity) and they can't pin anything on him.

That's why I would think that that sergeant raped and murdered her when she spurned him. Knowing nothing about Fort Hood (see above post) I dunno how easy it would be to hide a body there. I can't see him smuggling a corpse off base. If her body is still on base, it's only a matter of time before it's found, and then sarge goes bye bye.

It's the largest base in the world, so if she is there it's gonna be awhile. We're talking huge ass ranges and boundaries of water to search. I'm curious how they know she was in the parking lot. I'm guessing they have a suspect in mind that was either seen by cameras or eye-witness, but such inaction is concerning since this happened in April.

Leaving her military id is actually a red flag that she was spirited into an unmarked vehicle.

I'm guessing that they don't have enough on the guy to nail him yet, and as you said since it's so fucking gigantic it's gonna take a while for her body to turn up. I've heard of numerous cases in the civilian world where they had to let the suspect go for lack of evidence and only were able to nail him after the body turned up. At least with the army they can order the suspect confined to base indefinitely, so he's not going anywhere. The military has a completely separate legal system with its own rules, and they need to cross every t and dot every i according to UCMJ rules to make sure the case sticks. The guy likely isn't going anywhere for a while anyway, unless he drives off and an hero's himself up in the hills.

I remember reading about her disappearance and a rash of other disappearances in that area being connected to a Christian cult called the House of Assembly aka House of Prayers. They've been going to Fort Hood and aggressively approaching soldiers to recruit them.

Fort Hood commander launches sexual harassment investigation in Vanessa Guillen's disappearance

Fort Hood has initiated an internal investigation into allegations that Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, a soldier from Houston who has been missing since April 22, was sexually harassed.

Guillen was last seen April 22 in a parking lot at Fort Hood. She reportedly told her family she had been sexually harassed on base before her disappearance.

“I opened an investigation concerning the information provided by the Guillen Family that Pfc. Vanessa Guillen was harassed prior to her disappearance,” Col. Ralph Overland, Commander of the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, said in a statement. “I take allegations of sexual harassment very seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigation.”

Overland appointed an investigating team led by a senior investigating officer to conduct a commander’s investigation, known as an “AR 15-6 Investigation,” into the allegations. The investigation will collect facts and evidence before presenting the findings to Overland.

An AR 15-6 investigation is not a criminal proceeding. Statements and facts are gathered in informal interviews.

The 3rd Cavalry Regiment is continuing to search for Guillen, Overland said.

The Army and the League of United Latin American Citizens are each offering $25,000 for information leading to Guillen.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Army CID Special Agents at 254-495-7767 or the Military Police Desk at 254-287-4001.

Hopefully they can figure this out and get justice for her.

Investigators searching for missing Fort Hood, Texas, soldier Vanessa Guillen have unearthed unidentified human remains near the Leon River, authorities say.

The remains, which will undergo an identification process, were found near where a previous search was conducted on June 22, officials with the Army Criminal Investigation Division said.

"After receiving additional information, agents have discovered what has been described as partial human remains after analysis from a forensic anthropologist," said CID Chief of Public Affairs Chris Grey.

"Due to the ongoing criminal investigation, no further information will be released at this time," Grey said.

The discovery came on the same day that Guillen's family announced they were seeking a congressional investigation into the 20-year-old's disappearance.

Guillen was last seen in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron headquarters at the Fort Hood military base on April 22, and has not been heard from since.

"Due to the lack of answers, safety, respect, and responsibility in Fort Hood, we are demanding a Congressional Investigation to be done," Guillen family attorney Natalie Khawam wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday. "It is truly disappointing how Fort Hood Army Base, a military base, has not given answers to Vanessa's family."

Khawam and Guillen's family said that Guillen complained to family members about being the victim of sexual harassment on the base, but never filed a formal complaint for fear of retaliation.

"At this point, investigators have no credible information or report that Vanessa Guillen was sexually assaulted," military officials said in a previous statement.

Khawam said she's planning to propose legislation to protect U.S military soldiers from sexual harassment and sexual assault, with an announcement expected at a press conference at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Thursday at noon.

"Our soldiers deserve to be safe and respected while being on duty," wrote Khawam on Facebook. "Those soldier are putting their life for the United States yet the same army family fails to respect them mentally, physically or sexually ... Our soldiers need feel and be safe while being on duty."

Guillen's disappearance comes eight months after the disappearance of Fort Hood Pvt. Gregory Wedel-Morales, whose body was discovered near the base and positively identified on June 19. Although autopsy results are pending for Wedel-Morales, officials said they suspect his death resulted from foul play.

Odds are likely it could be her. Obviously, she is dead, but I'd rather the family find her, than her being a perpetual "missing persons." At least there might be justice now.

Zoomed in. The river runs right off the east side of the base. (The marker isn't where she was found, but the marker for the river)
