Yeah, the pisser with comparing this with LA is that then, the MSM had 36 hours to get the story out and 150 column inches to get it in so they could say, "Here's what happened night before last and yesterday in LA and across the country as of press time." That gave them time to get a death toll, a damage toll, a "HOLY SHIT DUDE GOT HIS HEAD CAVED IN" toll, and a "shit looked hot for a minute but fizzled out" toll.
But today every journalist is compelled to shit out 10 paragraphs of hot take in an hour, and that timeline is going to make it a pile of runny shit. There's not even a short-take, much less a medium take or a long take.
I'm still reading the one and only COVID addition of The Atlantic in my shitter, and it feels like old news.
